I laughed when I heard that because ironically, the director at that specific location told me I won’t get into that position anywhere. And then I show up there where he gave a speech teaching me how to do that exact position for another place. Didn’t go in with a stupid, smug attitude when I saw him though. Complete opposite actually. I was grateful he gave me that kick in the ass because it motivated me to take my work seriously. Very happy with where I’m at and I’ll continue to learn as I move along
Something similar happened to me in college. A professor I had a few times (twice for one class I needed to retake and a third time for a different class entirely) told me I needed to consider a plan B because he didn’t think I’d be successful at all unless I could pass that specific class taught by him. Well, I’ll readily admit to failing it a second time under him (shit happens, oh and also this was Discrete Math). He basically refused to help me in office hours and stuff. Proceeded to tell me I’d basically never be successful.

And yet I’ve had a very stable career job for 3 years now and likely make more than him. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

If I saw him on the street I’d probably just go up to him and say thanks for the inspiration to be better than his expectations.

Accidentally took a 3.5 hour or so snooze when I got home from work earlier today (yesterday) so now I’m struggling to sleep. Oh well.

I think the big part of it for me is the consistency. Sure it’s a regular old cheap fast food burger. But the quality of ingredients tends to be the same just about al the time. I don’t get a burger there with browned lettuce ever, the onions are fresh, etc. My family in the old days would go to Carl’s Jr. or Burger King, etc. and there were times when, I shit you not, we’d get partially frozen patties or other ingredients. It’s nasty.

I also don’t mind the fries, which a lot of people hate. The way I see it, there are all different kinds of fries - steak cut, curly, shoestring, wedge, etc. - and I don’t mind having their fresh taters even if they aren’t double fried or whatever people like to complain about. It’s just a solid meal at like eight bucks.

Can’t go wrong. Other than the line out the door and sometimes difficult seating availability (I’m not so impatient about that but let’s not get started how my dad behaves in that situation lol!).

Your Dad sounds like me. I don't wait anywhere to eat, and particularly not at fast food. If there are more than two people ahead of me, or a 10 minute wait at a sit-down restaurant, I go somewhere else.

I also don't care for restaurants that charge huge amounts of money because it's an experience. If I want experience, I go to Waffle House right after the bars close. Now that's entertainment.

Reminds me. As a teen, I was a cook at a cheese steak place that was just down the street from several large bars/clubs in Campbell. We were open till 2:30am Friday and Saturday night. The "drunk rush" at the end of the night was quite entertaining.

Maybe it's my pet peeve, but when I'm cleaning through Classified section, posting the warning. Clearly saw that warning, instead of fixing it &/or quick reply saying "will do"... just replying other posts & keep ignoring it.

Of course, I delete those FS thread. Later down, they send me lovely PM...

They are the same people that only get speeding tickets because the cops need the money, any accident is always somebody else's fault and will ask a question then argue against every single answer.
My pet peeve is the guys that ask me a question in a PM and never ever respond to the answer. Like DUDE you asked me specifically to take time to answer so a follow up would be sort of nice.
