Repairing BRZ

Hey guys, I'm newcomer here and I've recently bought mine brz with front end damage and now gonna repair it. The question is what's better to put there: OEM vs aftermarket, considering that everything is missing and should be bought. Firstly I'm interested in intake options: injen evolution claims +15 whp gain and it's a complete set of intake(for example, GrimmSpeed requires additional OEM snorkel) for price only twice higher then stock. Is it worth it or just drop in will be fine?
The second thing is radiator. Is this a necessary upgrade for the car or i can save money and put stock one? Maybe oil radiator is needed?
P.S. BRZ is gonna be a track day car(we have short 10min sessions) but will stay NA.

the stock radiator is more than adequate for any tracking sessions ( i put in 40 min track sessions)

and intake isnt really needed (but if its missing altogether) look at perrin. injen i dont have a comment about. but I have bought Perrin. Greddy and afe. and perrin allows you to use their oil cooler

WHICH. IS. A. MUST

when it comes to lap sessions.

as far as bumpers and whatnot get the OE bumpers. they fit the best

Just stay with stock intake until you get the car running healthily. I wouldn't upgrade the radiator unless stock presents an issue either.

Just get the car back to 100% stock, track it and adjust the car after finding any weaknesses. You may spend money on an intake now and figure out that your brakes aren't good enough; that intake cost would be the new set of pads you're needing

Thx for the advice, but I'm worried a bit about using perrin intake in rainy conditions thats why i was looking for inbox filter.

Pads, suspension, sticky tyres will be put ASAP. Now I'm only interested in those things that are already missing and needs to be installed.

We run stock intakes with K&N filters on our track cars generally. Even on wrecked cars were they were missing. OEM radiator works fine but I usually put in a Koyo radiator instead... no real reason except cost of an OEM one. OEM equivalent ones are cheap of course but didn't want to risk getting a crappy one.

And I'd agree with the oil cooler suggestion.

Any link for this Koyo rad? As far as i understood it's equal to the stock one?
And what are the options for the oil coolers? Or they're all almost the same?

I'm not sure which company/shipping options are the best for your country.

There are multiple oil coolers out there. The Mishimoto and Jackson Racing ones are popular. Out of our endurance team (which aren't racing these cars but we all have them for HPDEs) we have 1 normal Jackson Racing, 1 combo Radiator/Oil cooler Jackson Racing and 1 Mishimoto.

Check out forum sponsors like CounterSpaceGarage ( @CSG Mike and @CSG David ) and @OAKOS Automotive - I've used both of them multiple times. They both have parts listed for these cars and both are sources of knowledge for the parts available for this platform.

I would not run anything Mishimoto.

I might be in the minority here, but until recently they didnt have a QA program for their products and more than once seen something of theirs blow out. (weak welds on joints and corners, or lack of substantial material)

I would go jackson racing as a kit, I got the perrin one just because it was local cheap and still used a setrab cooler.

you could put your own cooler system together.

I will be swapping my perrin out for a jackston racing one as I want to run ^ above mentioned stock intake on the car and there are airbox clearance issues.

yay C street

Re: Radiators
Not sure why no love for the Mishimoto, as Dave-Ror mentioned I've run mine hard on a rebuilt, track only 86 for the past 3 years without an issue. Plus - Lifetime warranty.

The Mishimoto is PN: MMRAD-BRZ-13

That being said the other radiators mentioned are equally stout, Jackson Racing/CSF (CSF7050), Koyo (VH012663) and are all similarly priced. The Jackson Racing with built in oil cooler is a little more (5101-07-J02).

No intake (I've found) has beaten the torque feel the OEM one with a K&N drop in.

Myself & Dave-Ror have rebuilt 8 of the 9 we've bought...(and another on the way) so let us know if you have any questions.
