Beatrush Aluminum Underpanel Unboxed and Installed

Initial impressions out-of-the-box is that the underpanel is a simple yet well-made part. The panel was packaged well and it's finish was protected on one side with a thin blue film.

The Beatrush aluminum underpanel is an option for those looking to keep engine bay temps down...especially those that track their 86s and/or have a supercharger or turbo. I have the following installed and felt that heat could or would be an issue:
- HKS supercharger pro kit v3
- HKS EL exhaust manifold (catless)

I know some of you will want hard numbers but I did not have any fancy gadgets to measure engine bay temps before or after the install... so I do not have any numbers to report. In the future, pehaps I could coordinate some sort of tests to demonstrate how effective or ineffective the underpanel is.

In the meantime, I can only point everyone to info about the functionality of the underpanel from the Beatrush site that convinced me into giving the underpanel a shot.

This is what you get out-of-the-box...

Here is an aft to fwd view...

This short section of the underpanel (mounting stay) installs first and utilizes 4 OEM bolts. I believe the bolts are M8.

Slide the provided M6 nut clips over the holes on the short panel (mounting stay) like so...

Attach the underpanel to the mounting stay with the provided hardware (3 M6x15 bolts, lock-washers, & washers). To keep the panel up while attaching the 20mm and 30mm diameter spacers and the corresponding M6x25 and M8x30 bolts, install the two M8 OEM bolts (located on the corners). You can also install the OEM pop clips at the edges of the panel.

Once you have every bolt and spacer lined-up...torque the Beatrush provided M6 and M8 bolts to 4 ft-lbs and 10 ft-lbs respectively. Torque the OEM M8 bolts to 22 ft-lbs.

You can see how air flows through the panel...

Complete...

Note: You will have a few OEM bolts left over after the install.

Don't you have one installed? If so, how do you like it? Would you recommend it to others? I have yet to decide... looks promising though.

It uses OEM hardware and pop clips in their OEM positions...the provided spacers are required because the Beatrush panel is flat and not molded like the OEM one... so I would have to say no... the Beatrush panel appears as equal in height to the OEM panel.

If you were to purchase and install one, there would be no clearance issues different than any that would exist with the OEM one installed.

Lol... thanks...

Beatrush puts out some high quality parts... I feel their prices are very reasonable when compared to the competition in North America and Asia.
