Just a heads up, if you ask Japanparts.com to add parts that are JDM-only they typically will. I just had them add the Silk Blaze Glanzen kits and they're slightly below MSRP. I know @Beyer Subaru does the same for certain parts. Pretty sweet stuff!

Cutting your fender wells and quarter panels will not total out your car by the insurance company. It's just a body mod. No different then switching bumpers.

Is this opinion? Or did you call around asking?

I have had State Farm, Progressive and Farmers insurance over the last 25 years and i have modified many cars. Any time there was a claim my body mods didn't disqualify me from being insured. To say the least the insurance companies helped pay for the mods because i would have the body shop apply the money from the claim and have the body shop do the mod and i would pay the difference. Example new paint job from snow plow damage. Got rear ended and got a new body kit.

You buy a new hood and rear end someone and you have have full coverage. Your insurance company must pay for the other persons damage and yours. They must repair your car to the same standards it was just before the accident happened up to the coverage money limit. If your mods equal more than your coverage then you are screwed. This is why if you heavy modify a car you need to increase your coverage limit. I am currently covered on my brz for 50k on my car and 300k on anyones property.

Talk to your agent and make sure you have the right coverage.

They make a wide and non-widebody version of that kit.

It is based off of it. The wider fenders are also a hint at the STI concept
