I'd honestly just buy a pre-owned FR-S with the mods and forced induction already installed, less money and headache in my opinion. I bought my FR-S RS1.0 stock a few months ago, but later saw a RS1.0 with a Jackson Racing SC and many supporting mods for $22.5k, I kinda wish I got that car instead....all done up and ready to go with the mods I would eventually do anyways.

I understand CO to be at a high elevation. NA cars don't do too well at altitude. Small displacement NA cars will be gasping for air and anemic. Usually better to go turbo from factory... But, if you are dead set on getting a twin, humfrz is right that you should get a feel for the chassis and engine first (4 months minimum) then see what you want to be different and by how much. Then ask yourself if it's really worth it to make those changes versus other options. That will also give you time to do a bit of research as to how to achieve your goals. Also, most people can barely afford one car, much less a car 'build', much less 2 car 'builds', even with some sort of college degree. Just sayin' that might be why some of the side conversations started. |

I don't have to pay for college (at least in a monetary sense. I owe 10 years to the military instead), so its really what allowed me to do my first build. I figured if I saved properly and smartly I could space this build out for the next years to come. There is no way i could do it all at once! Plus I think that would be pretty foolish. Thanks for the input man!

Buy a used '13 with 70k miles for $12k then build to your own desire and get ready to replace your throwout bearing every 25k miles.
