Yep, unless I can find him, insurance will rule it a single vehicle collision and I'll be held at fault. It sucks, but at least I'm alive and I have accident forgiveness on my policy for the first at fault collision.

I'm truly sorry. That type of thing infuriates me. On one hand, do you collide with the idiot to ensure they'll be liable and risk a more dangerous collision? Or do you avoid them and hope they stay at the scene and if not, you're the one getting shit on? Lose/lose

Yep. I left everything on since it was 0 C that night and the tires don't have the most grip. My guess is I lifted when swerving which caused some snap over steer.

So they were the stock Michelin summer tires? Your grip was probably next to nothing then...

Yep. The irony was I had new tires shipped to the local garage. I was supposed to put them on the next morning. Lesson learned, I'll have my wife bring them with her when I get the new car and make sure they're swapped over before I even leave the dealership.

Cheque for the value of a 2017 is in the mail. The local dealership has WRB and CWP in stock. Decisions, decisions...

Well i have had a BRZ in WRB, CWP and CBS.
I concur that CWP is the most flattering color choice for this car. It looks good in person, it looks good in photos from most angles and it is easier to match other parts (wheels, aero, etc.) to it. WRB, is all Subaru. Its classic. Can't go wrong. Congrats on the 17 again, glad you are okay, and I'm sure pulling off the lot this time will go much better.

Car was already declared a writeoff? If so this is one salvage car that I'd buy (by the looks of it), although they say dont buy a salvage vehicle. Anyway, tough luck especially as you took a car with summer rubber that needed winters if below 8C. You probably were headed to a tire place. Anyway that's the shit that increases everyone's insurance. Eventually when my daughter heads home from university to her mom (in Ancaster) in the summer I will need to look into getting her driving, insurance. If you get video of this we're talkin' Youtube viral stuff here. Like the lady in a BMW X5 that drove right over the hood up to the roof of a Hyundai Accent in a parking lot of a health club near here, and then casually backed up and drove away, exiting the slowly as if nothing happened. That was probably 2007ish.
