Oh, OK.

Later that evening the window A/C finally conked out and it got real hot in her apartment. My quart bottle of whisky was almost gone and I was afraid that I would run out before I passed out. Her case of beer was almost gone.

Her roommate had retired to their bedroom and she jumped up and exclaimed how hot the couch was and unfolded it into a hide-a-way bed. So, we stretched out to watch the rest of a movie. After that, my mind got real fuzzy.

I woke up the next morning in her guest bedroom, naked, on a single bed, with one leg propped up to an open window, trying to catch a bit of cool air and help keep the room from spinning.

As I was waking up, she entered the room, soaking wet from a shower and climbed on top of me. Since I was so hot, her cool, wet body felt good.

A bit later we jumped into her company pickup truck and headed out to the field research station. It was a typical July HHH (Hot-Humid-Hazy) morning in Iowa, as I gazed over the corn plots ........ with my head pounding and whisky oozing out of my pores, I swore I'd NEVER do that again......

Yep, I spent a month, that week in Iowa.
