Trunk Tool Holder
Hello All,
I am looking for help with the junk in my trunk I searched the forums here and found a few links: http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showt...runk+organizer http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showt...runk+organizer But they still do not help. I actually bought the velcro trunk blocks, but they would not stick to the factory mat at all so I returned them ([ame="http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0009FUEJI/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1"]Amazon.com: Lund 700100 Cargo-Logic Charcoal Cargo-Loks - Set of 4: Automotive[/ame]). My problem is I keep a large tool box with 4 smaller tool boxes on top and a tool bag on the left half of the trunk (in picture below). They slide around constantly and I need a way to hold them. I was wondering if anyone else had any other luck with velcro products, or something else I thought of was a compression pole that would compress between the floor and the roof of the trunk to hold everything in place. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks! |

I would prefer to have them more centerish (eg. near rear seat) vs one side. And if you have to bring them with you all the time .. how about some rope attached to trunk walls?

The problem with centering them is then it takes up most of the opening and I lose the little usable space that I have.
I do need all the tools one way or another. I had an F150 before this, and that had a full bed box and under the rear seat was full of tools. This is a huge cutback and I am running at bare minimum already (there is also another box living in the rear seat ) I have tried the rope/bungie cord method, but there is nothing to attach too. I know this seems like a real simple problem, but for whatever reason it is not. Really thinking a compression rod, just like a small curtain rod, would be perfect, but cannot find anything. Anyone know of anything like this or have found creative ways to make cargo tiedowns? |

For more storage there is always option of folding down rear seat. Never used it though except when carrying full tire set due how all that stored cargo rattles.
Nowhere to attach to ropes? I was thinking of some DIY magic. See where it should be attached, bolt on/mold some hooks to attach to, no? To hind bolts it might be behind trimming carpet material, so only hook is above it. Thinking that something might be attached to boot mat aswell (of course with something rigid below it, as be it rubber or carpet boot mat, it still is not strong enough by itself. But then again it's cheap part, that you can switch with unmoded one when selling car). |

Wal-Mart curtains isle has torsion curtain rods (in several adjustable sizes)(my family got some last week for our home so I know it's there). You can also try to cut in a large non slip rubber mat
