I put it on my window, only time I have ever been bothered by it was in a town called Ramsey. One day I told a cop off since he was in on his high horse (long story), two weeks after that I got a ticket for it in that town, only $50. Other then that I have never been bothered by it even when undercover cops (I really think they were DEA agents) came to my parking lot and questioned me and flashed there lights in ever dark corner of my car, they never even said a thing XD

No plate on my last 3 cars. $80 fine here. I do however keep the plate under my driver seat. Haven't had to yet but, probably could slide it onto the dash without an officer noticing...

If need be, I'd go with the tow hook bracket befor drilling and covering the grille, the car runs too hot now stock, FI won't be any better.

I always have a front plate except for the very day I picked up my FRS, which I got pulled over coming out of the dealership for. It wasn't like I meant to not put one on. I just didnt want the dealership to do it in case they drilled into the wrong part of the bumper, but no mercy from the cop =(

My dealer didn't drill the front license plate holder either. Been riding dirty since.

Now, I understand that I am exaggerating a bit but still, the idea of it all just pisses me off. If you want one on the back, fine... but no way would I put one in front! Governments and police are so controlling!

I think it's funny how a lot of people consider Texas to be the most free state in the country. I've been to almost every state and I would consider Texas to be the least free. The cops have a cowboy George W Bush mentality. I've been pulled over twice driving through there and I saw cops everywhere each time. It felt like going from Nazi Germany to Sweden when I crossed into the New Mexico border.

One time I was driving through, going maybe 1, 2, or 3 mph over the speed limit (honestly!), and a cop driving the other way, slammed on his brakes, and smashed through the center median ditch, almost getting himself stuck (which was hilarious), to go after me. But now that I think about it, he probably thought I was a Texan resident without a front license plate. Since I'm from Indy, I didn't have a front plate.

But yeah, screw Texas.
Texas is a massive state with a wide array of types of people. Not everyone is bible toting, gun wielding Bush supporter.

Come visit the Hill Country sometime, it sure beats driving through corn fields.

Because I'm sure PDs are scavenging these forums trying to find out who doesn't have a front LP...

I got away without one for about 6 months before I got a warning ticket from a state cop. The plate was in the back seat, so I think he bought my story blaming the dealer for not being able to get a bracket (true).

I finally installed mine using this bracket from Pep Boys- the bracket is secured to the plastic grille with two 3/16" x 3" toggle bolts, and the plate is screwed to the bracket. Very clean with no holes drilled.
