Yeah if you have a carport and basic tools you'll be fine. All my audio work I have done in driveways Except for building the speaker boxes in the basement where the power tools were.

So I guess you took the plunge. I am out of town till the 4th or I'd give you a hand since I did mine and it wasn't too bad at all. Absolutely no need for renting a bay. Highly recommending getting a set of plastic panel removal tools - they are only around $20 on amazon.

It was the rain I was concerned about, and checking the weather this morning, it seems like we may have some tomorrow. I would wait until the weekend, but I have guests coming in and we all know how patience goes out the window when you have car parts sitting in your living room waiting to be installed
Gonna shoot for a 5:30 or 6:00 rental tomorrow, so I'll see y'all up there.

Hey guys. Just got my frs about a week ago. Currently live in san marcos but i'm moving into Austin late july. Has anyone been coming up with meets or anything? Looking to see what everyone else has done with their cars. I already have the itch to start modding lol.

I typically go to the Cars & Coffee @ the Oasis. Happens every second Sunday of the month.

We'll occasionally meet somewhere small, like Chipotle, or go on a small drive somewhere. Lime Creek has been getting worse with bikers and traffic lately. Kinda sucks because the road is fun, but you have to drive carefully.

I live much closer to the hill country right now and it's not so much the traffic as it is the cops. Wouldn't dare smile like I was having fun in front of these guys.

I'll definitely have to get out to the oasis though. Seems like a good spot for a meet.

Anyone have anything in the way of custom gauge cluster?

I need one pod for an AEM failsafe. Probably the only one I'll run. If I put too many gauges, people will think I'm in some 700 hp race car.

Why don't you do the driverside vent gauge?

That one gauge is almost $400! It's really nice though.

I usually meet up with some 86 people if they wanna snap photos or something. Only thing I ask is that they have a location in mind cus idk anywhere here except the Oasis and some warehouses

Have you considered a steering column pod? Perrin makes one that you could probably put on the left side. It'd cover up the analog speed gauge, but who uses that?

I'll probably end up doing the one Scott mentioned. It's the most logical and provides the information I need without going overboard with gauge pods. It's pretty subtle and at least lets me still use the AC vent. I would have said absolutely not if my AC vent was out because of that gauge.
