Frame damage? Scam?

So I bought my frs at a dealership “ momentum of fairfield “ due to the nice car and the “ lifetime engine warranty “ it came with. The dealership is now closed down due to tax fraud, and ECT. But now I got this in the mail about frame damage.

does your car have frame damage? did you run a carfax? is it clean?

i would google the vin, or use carfax as a starting point to understand the history of the car and the auction houses it went through. many times, salvage auction sites like copart have cached pages that a google search will find that you can locate the damaged pictures of the car.

Lawyers going to lawyer. I couldn't imagine waking up each day just in search of how to sue people to make money. Most of them are just unscrupulous scumbags.

Is there damage, did you ask for an inspection, or did they just send this randomly so they can have some of your money

Company that sold the car is gone, much like your lifetime warranty, I would assume....

Man that’s a shame about the dealership and losing your warranty. If there is any way to get in touch with the GM I would try that. Maybe they will re-open at some point?
I know the possible frame damage is a bigger concern to you. I would have a good Toyota or Subaru repair shop take a look over the entire car. It would be 100% worth it. Good luck! These are reliable cars and they are designed really well, I hope yours won’t have any issues.

he didn't say anything about the warranty. typically warranties are handled by a third party, meaning who sold the warranty doesn't matter.

it sounds like the dealer went out due to illegal financial activity. if they reopen, it'll be under a new owner, and none of the past will apply.

so i called about the warranty already and they said any Toyota/Subaru dealer will honor the warranty. as for the frame damage. i check carfax before purchasing the car. ive had the car for almost two years now, have never gotten it inspected for frame damage. the dealership is closed an i believe the owner is facing time for fraud. ive never heard anything about this car having frame damage. till this car law firm reached out to me. im not sure what will happen if i go through with this.

will the loan be voided?
will they take my car?
will my car title go from clean to salvage?
im just not sure.

If you search that law firm's name, you'll find that this guy Sadr makes his living by looking for cars that were sold with prior damage and suing the dealerships hoping for a quick settlement. The letter you received is a form letter. You can find the exact same letter on other forums for other cars. That letter probably goes out for any car his staffers find that was sold in an insurance auction whether there was really "frame damage" or not.

Complaints about him allege he threatens lawsuits even if the dealership did everything correctly, basically extorting them to pay him to go away. He probably doesn't realize this dealership has already gone out of business and won't be able to pay him. He just sends the form letters and follows up on the ones where he smells easy money.

He sounds like trash to me. That's not to say he wouldn't get a settlement if the company were still in business, but it's a slimy way to make a living. Personally, I wouldn't have anything to do with him.

It sounds like you should be ok then, and you can choose a reputable Toyota or Subie dealership for any warranty issues. Around here specific dealerships will sometimes have their own exclusive extended warranties, but I’ve never looked closely into it. It may just be a national coverage basic extended warranty deal.

I can’t imagine anything could happen with your loan or car. Unless that dealership acted as the bank also? If your loan is through a separate bank I don’t think you have anything to worry about. And like was said it’s probably just a law firm trying to make some extra money off dealerships.

Extra said everything there is about the lawyer.

No your loan will not be impacted.
No nobody is going t take your car.
If your car has a clean title now it still will.
I AM sure!

Throw the letter away and forget it. If you want to have the car checked for piece of mind then go to any decent body shop. May cost you $100 for an inspection but then you will know. My money is on that it does not now nor ever did have any "frame damage".

Keep in mind also that even if a mechanic finds evidence of a prior repair, that doesn't mean there's anything at all wrong with your car. These days damage can usually be repaired to the point that you wouldn't even realize it had been damaged unless you were specifically looking for it. And that's IF it was actually damaged, as it may not be.

Don't let this idiot lawyer shake your confidence in your car.

From the "lawyers" online reviews:
Quote:
I had no clue my car was frame damage, they sent a letter explaining me and giving me knowledge about my car.
Quote:
I received a notice from them saying my car had frame damage... I remembered the carfax and contract and there was nothing about frame damaged mentioned...
Quote:
They're gonna waste your time by saying bull shit about the car frame to sue the car dealer
Quote:
Extorts Customers and RIPS OFF DEALERS. DO NOT USE THIS LAW FIRM. HE WILL GET THE MONEY AND RIP YOU OFF. CUSTOMERS BEWARE!! HE ACTS LIKE YOUR FRIEND, AND HAS BEEN CHARGED WITH FEDERAL CRIMES!
Yep, scumbag lawyer doing what scumbags do. Everybody should go online to their reviews and show them how we feel about his practice. I just did and if it keeps away even one customer it was worth it.

They have had multiple locations of the business and names of the company changing if you dig deeper. Always a sign of a honest business....

Good find. He must not have been convicted, however, or the bar would have pulled his license to practice law.

Edit: Yep, case dismissed on a technicality. Slimy bastards.
