Expensive??

Anyone know of aftermarket ones that are cheaper than buying brand new oem ones at a dealer but perform better/similar?

LOL indeed. I can't stand the squeal from the W4's I use at the track.

Like $75 a set. @FT-86 SpeedFactory has them last time I looked.

How much are OEM brake pads and discs anyway?

I'm on STI brake pads and they don't squeal when cold, only when they are upto temperature and I don't find them annoying.

Hawk HPS brake pads now that's annoying!

For a pure daily, stock pads are fine. If you want cheaper, look for street pads that fit your price range.

I daily project mu club racers in the summer and don't find them that bad at all once bedded. I swap to stock pads for winter though, don't need to be wasting good pads on snow tires.

Can anyone share their input with regard to noise, braking power, wear, cold/hot op temp for the following Project Mu pads:

NS400/HC+800/B-Force

Looking for improvement over stock with minimal squeal

Thanks 👍🏼

I've had Hawks/Carbotechs/Project Mus/Ferodos. They are all tolerable wrt to squeal if you bed them in properly. Any semi-metallic pad with increased coefficient of friction over stock will squeal like a pig if you don't bed them properly. Do it on the track or find a long quiet stretch of country road where you can progressively get the pads hot without attracting any attention to why you're driving like a lunatic, then cruise without using the brakes until they cool, and you'll get a nice even transfer layer that will not only eliminate squeal but make your braking characteristics much better.
