Its in their interest to check what TSBs they can perform on your car, because thats how they get paid (in this case, by subaru) :P

I think ill wait until after the winter months to go and take my car to the dealer. Dont want to risk having the car stranded at the dealer because it suddenly starts snowing or whatever.

Apparently my car is within the range - advisor called and said they performed the idle stability TSB software update and have ordered the parts necessary for the fuel pump TSB. I asked what parts would be replaced - he said fuel pump, fuel pump bracket, a bunch of fuel lines, and the drivers side valve cover (?) - which seems like more than the invoice posted above...

I honestly was expecting them to just say "that's normal for these cars"...
The VIN range is from 2013 to 2016. It says it right on the TSB.

Remember the car still has to be in warranty to get this done. It is not a recall.

Is this time any different than the other TSB for this? When they were changing out the pumps when the chirp was originally found to happen,
did it take a while to come back or was it immediately back to chirping? It seems everybody is not complaining about it coming back in here.

Is there a TSB for Subaru owners that I missed somewhere, or is this for Toyota folks only?

Dunno, but the only installed parts are what is listed on the TSB, ask again to confirm the parts. You should be able to get a free rental while they do the work unless you want to wait the 3 hours there. Good luck

It's under power train warranty so it's up to 60k/5 years.

Did you bring it in tuned or flashed back to stock? I currently have uel stage 2 e85 going. Will it be a big deal to drop off as is or with the pump do they mess with ecu? My dealer seems cool didn't even ask to hear it said come on down to replace.

Noticed:

1) MPG bump up by 3-6. Solid with mix driving of about 20min city rest hwy.
2) Pump is a tad quieter. Meaning the tick of the pump. I'm not talking about the chirp.
3) Responsiveness is definitely better. I'm not even close to stalling.
4) Shifting feels smoother. RPM's dropping slower. 1st to 2nd is easy.
5) Arse dyno says car is just a tad smoother in acceleration so I gained like 500 hp.
6) I am still running on Chevron 91. Before I had cricket chirp. Now I do not. Same tank. Yes SAME.

Will update on 3rd gas tank fill up.

12/13/16 UPDATE

3rd tank of gas.
No crickets.
Shifting is smooth as butter
Acceleration is better
Mpg issss better.

Hit 29mpg in city by grandma driving and 35.8 in hey
Originally had 24/31.6 in this patch of road.
I honestly can't tell if this post is sarcasm or not. Your 500 HP joke suggests it is... but I'm honestly not sure, lol.

Got my pump replaced last week (Scion 2013), not sure if under standard or ECP warranty.
They kept saying this is a fuel problem and not a pump (always used 91), made them do it anyways while I got the warranty. I think crickets are gone.

Wait until it warms up again and see if they come back. I never had them from October to April no matter what gas I used. Soon as it got hot and I hit a Petrocan station...

The 500 hp was tested through a arse dyno aka butt dyno. We all know thats not accurate or true at all. Rest is real.

...just a joke.

The pump improved my stalling. IDk if it was clogging up or dying. MPG did increase. 6 gas tanks later 26.6mpg driving in city. 34.2 in hwy. 68-77MPH non cruise control.

Chirp is gone 100% so far.

12/21/16

No updates. Car is running perfect.
