Wizardry with caliper brackets.

I recently got a mazda 3. There is a 2.0 and 2.5, the 2.5 has larger diameter rotor but same caliper and pads. Magic in my book. An engineer would disagree i presume

I have been in the rotor manufacturing business for 7 years now and the wizardry of design still amazes me sometimes. People have no idea the number of specs that have to be met on those basic round, steel, parts with some holes drilled in them. Making them is more of an art form than a process.
Even that pales against the pure black magic that is spring "manufacturing" which is where I worked for a decade. I still swear that the only way they could make 100 springs that were identical was to sacrifice a goat. You don't want to know what the sacrifice was to make 1,000 the same!

Well there you have it guys, doesn't really seem like they're all that happy to help me. Bare minimum, if that.

Update to this: Import Image Racing came around and decided to return both my front and rear rotors at a refund and without shipping charge on myself. I'm not sure why they suddenly had a change of heart, but overall I'm happy.

they knew they messed up. any good business owner would take care of the customer. it sad when a small mistake like this businesses direct you to the return policy.

it was probably the dude who put together your order was getting a talking to and then they googled "rotor size brz" or whatever and then realized "oh shit there are actually two different sized rotors for this car" derp. after realizing that, they probably felt stupid and decided that the best thing to do was to take care of you. glad you got it sorted out!

Thanks! lol it's funny just yesterday I decided to install the rear pads I had laying around to match the front since i clearly am not doing a rotor change at this point in time. Noticed the passenger front wheel had no free spin at all to it when I had the car up and thought that was weird. Took it apart, greased a caliper pin in question, re compressed the piston anyway for good measure and after a drive to bed the rears in the wheel now spins freely.
