Right now everyone is using new engines for the swap in time once these cars get a little older they will start using a rebuilt one and the price will drop dramatically.

I have an automatic trans and if I decide (not sure yet just like having a plethera of different options) do a complete engine swap package with the LS2 that Weapon Grade Performance with new ECU/wiring, LS2 manual trans, LS2 engine, will it be the same process as converting a stock manual FRS? WGP is just an example, I think a 2JZ swap kit would be cool as well.

Basically I'm asking if the automatic and manual go through the same swap modifications.

Sorry for the late response but yeah it will take a little more work sense you have trans cooler lines and a different radiator but really all of that is going when you do the swap. The stock cooling system is not able to keep up with an ls motor. After driving a few different fi options and a an one that's been swapped there is no comparison the ls motor in this car brings it to super car levels of performance. With the ls3 we are making 435whp na with the current tune.

The weight increase from an LS swap is less than that of most turbo kits for our cars.

This is true the swap only added 64lbs to the car.

I've always wondered how much weight turbo and sc kits actually add..with and without an intercooler. (50lbs, 100lbs, even more?)

I guess an easy way is to just weight the brand new turbo/sc kit package lol.

Anyone know or ver weight these kits? (Ie: hks, greddy, perrin, innovate, vortech, etc etc).

The Vortech kit was 38lbs actual weight on my scales, and another 10 for oil cooler, catch can and the difference of a large radiator.

Thinking about it now the weight is very high and forward (where you don't want it)

100% disagree. Porsche doesn't give their mid engine platforms the motors they deserve because of the 911. I adore Porsches, but an l33 (aluminum 5.3 with the z06 6.0 heads and a truck intake/cam) boxster s is In the works in my dads garage. BTW, I started working on air cooled Porsches long ago. I like them, but it doesn't make sense to spend a fortune replacing/rebuilding a bad 3.2 m96. Bored to 3.8 still won't make over 315 HP if you're lucky. And its a delicate, and expensive build. Also, they don't take boost, and are a pita to tune. Why not go LS

The view you do get of the gauges shows them not working.
