Don't forget the lack of wind up, driveline lash, slop etc.i really miss my 911

No there is no substitute
Both brz are supercharged 2013 and we could have gotten a Porsche for the cost of two brz, one is our 250hp streetcar and the other our track toy. Still rather one 911. But then the wife would have me riding my bike.

I was considering a s2000 before I got the BRZ, but I have heard they are very twitchy at the limit, crack rotors easily on track, oil starvation issues, and I found the passenger seat to be horribly cramped.

@CSG Mike, having a lot of s2000 experience, what does it take to make these cars "track worthy"?

Plus this according to @CSG David:

They are packages that work well. Honestly, just add that, plus test pipe + tune and you'll be running laps day in and day out without much issue.

True, but he said two of the downfalls were twitchy handling and overheating/cracked rotors and that is where the majority of that $11k is spent in the suspension and brakes.

Track worthy vs. podium level setup are two different approaches. We have another setup available for you if you're looking just to track the car and really don't care about being competitive.

Would that setup help me beat Maxrev's s2k?

Current or 2008?

#1 is develop your driving skill. Maxrev gets grip where nobody can find grip. He can take your car and drop time whenever he feels like it. He's that good.

If you want a car to get a certain time, just drop off a check depending what time you want your car to be capable of at Buttonwillow.

Good track pads, fresh DOT brake fluid, good trackable tires. That's all you need.

The more I read about cars the more I am noticing stories about oil starvation on the track in cars with "racing pedigree", and the person who you quoted echoed those concerns. Is this just a somewhat rare occurence or is an Accusump/baffled pan/extended oil pickup and pan/scavenge pumps etc. a good idea for the track?

I think the phenomenon is pretty limited to long-duration high-g corners, on very grippy tires and perhaps also with downforce.

Personally, I'm running a totally stock S2000, but I did invest in a baffled pan when I replaced my oil jet bolts. In retrospect, at my cars (lack of) development, and at the tracks I go to, I don't think either of those mods was really necessary.

Current. It's been proven that he's a great driver, but I'm wondering if there are other mods we can't see outwardly. Perhaps some other mods that that modifies the suspension geometry.

What I would really like to see is the BRZ hitting 1:57x with 195-200 whp with full interior. Possible?

Here's @CSG Mike running a 2:00 with RC1s, stock power and no aero:

Not sure if adding aero and full exhaust would be worth 3 secs.
