Good point, and very possible. If a customer doesn't come back (decides to live with it when the problem recurs), then it's considered "fixed."

Dropped off my BRZ. Left car idling when I arrived, asked the service writer if we could just agree right now that the vehicle is chirping. Never asked him to do it, he could have asked a tech to step out. I specifically told him I didn't want a phone call while I'm away on business saying "technician could not reproduce issue."

His reply: "sometimes that happens. In a perfect world, we wouldn't have to pay taxes, did you know that?"

Unprofessional, unacceptable. I can dish it out just the same but choose not to, for obvious reasons.

It's like I'm too pissed off to be more pissed off. Douche.

Not happy. I just called Kearny Mesa Subaru and asked when my part was expected in..."Oh yeah, we have it!" THANKS FOR THE HEADS-UP! Now I need to figure out how I'm going to live without a car for 2 days...

Just tell Toyota about your experience. Use internet review sites listing the dealer name and his. Email the dealer with links and let them know that you are now bringing your business elsewhere.

I'm taking mine in right now and it is getting looked at. Let's hope they accept that this needs to be fixed on my car. :P

Why 2 days? My TSB repair was performed in a couple of hours.

Yay mine has been verified for the new Fuel Pump... Now I just have to wait for it to come in so they can fix it. -.- The warehouse is pretty close to this toyota so it might take a day or two.

I agree, the suggested repair in the TSB says 2.5 hours. I looked at the service manual and it's held together by 5 bolts. It it pretty easy to do.

Because morons!

They said there's only one guy who can do it and he is spread thin. I'll be calling back today or tomorrow to talk with the service manager and find out wtf is the deal.

Subaru didn't bother listing estimated hour requirement in the TSB, so dealers doing it for the first time are covering their asses, not promising completion in one day.
