OK guys - so it's been a year...

1. Is the wing lifting anywhere at all?
2. Any warping?
3. Painting sticking?
4. Tape still holding up?

Thanks for the input.

I have the Stillen wing, looks awesome, but exposes the edges of the tape to sun and rain. The 3M does fail. It doesn't like prolonged sunlight and heat. I'm using genuine 3M outdoor tape with 30lb strength.

I'm not sure if it's just me, or if this is normal, but my replica seems to expand in the hot weather, and shrink in the cold. That being said, if you doing the install, don't put the close so close to the edges, or you'll see a bit of it on cold days.

Is the tape-to-spoiler contact failing or tape-to-car?

I had an issue where 3M was failing for the tape-to-spoiler so I applied 3M 94 adhesion promoter (stuff they use for vinyl wrap) to the spoiler and it hasn't failed since. Give it a try. I wouldn't use the stuff for the tape-to-car contact though but it would make it even more secure

Yeah, I used adhesion promoter - twice. Once for the initial installation and again on the reinstallation.
I've done both promoter to car and then promoter to car AND wing. I'm not doubting if the 3M stuff works or not. But once it get's exposed to the elements - heat, rain, dust... the stick pads basically rot out in the middle.

Again, it's a design flaw of the Stillen Wing. You can't mount a wing on the very edge of a trunk lip where the rain flows and pools on it, when the sun is out, can bake it, or when driving, dust collects in the space.

I've done rebadge jobs that lasted years with the same tape. The difference is exposure to the elements.

Sounds about right, everything expands a bit under heat and shrinks a bit when cold, especially plastics. Thanks for your input!
