It takes my car longer to warm up, then it takes to actually drive to work.

Approximately 30 miles each way. I'm lucky enough to drive through mountains (except when it rains).

I had a 26 mile (one way) commute until I changed jobs and now it's less than 1\10 of that distance. I don't drive enough anymore, I kinda miss driving my car.

I'll ring up @mgarcia707 and see if he would share where he works and which side of San Jose he lives on -

I asked "I just have to ask, where do the mountains go when it rains - ??"

You replied "He drives around them."

That comment tried to lead me to believe he had two different routes he could take to and from his work. So, since he lives in San Jose and drives 30 miles to go to work, either he works in the middle of nowhere East of Mt Hamilton OR he is driving over the Santa Cruz mountains to the coast.

It appears that there is only one major paved road from San Jose to Santa Cruz, that being HWY 17. So, what would be the second route that would drive around the Santa Cruz mountains??

Why don't you just put the oven door on yourself -

Approx 45 Km's each way, from KW to Woodstock. I love to drive it on the highway and how this car performs on the curves! ...But don't use it on winter. I have a beater (Corolla 2001) for our looong Canadian winters. Now I'm counting the days for spring!
