@fenton is this charger only when you flip it on? After your done with drift office you should bring it down to PIR and see what it traps in the 1/4 mile.

Yes you can completely disable it by not engaging the system but why on earth would you do that

The car drives in negative boost all the time unless you go wot.

That is @Thatruth2001 that is getting the drift office tune. He has talked about going to pir a couple times once he is tuned.

Is there a map change when you turn off the charger or does it run on the same map? Seems like that could be dangerous being tuned for boost then turning it off and running no boost.

Forget everything you know about boost when thinking about the ESC. The tune doesn't need to compensate for no boost because the supercharger only functions at closed loop full throttle. That means a full throttle you tune for boost, what timing you want, what fuel you want.... And at anything else you basically just have a NA tune.

It sounds complicated but it really isn't.

The car drives like a NA FRS from 0 to 95 percent throttle and once you go to 100 percent you are greeted with 60 to 40 HP more. A smooth surge of power.

So does it activate once the car switches to closed loop, or when you go to WOT (which is only 80%, our cars never go past 80% throttle)? The car will switch to closed loop anytime you increase throttle from a cruise, not just at WOT.

Here is why the eCharger looses impact (not efficiency) as rpm increases. Once again, my example is NOT using actual figures.

At WOT and 3000 rpm the engine is drawing (sucking) 250 cfm, and the ESC is forcing 750 cfm; a net gain of 500 cfm (750-250)

At WOT and 6000 rpm the engine is drawing 600 cfm and the ESC is still producing 750 cfm, a net gain of 150 cfm ((750-600)
no, i ment cfm but as i said my numbers are for example but yes way off.

Its a physical switch on the floor at WOT.

This has all been answered before....in the first post.

^ I didn't even read, but that was my guess.

Not going to take input from the TPS. Probably could move that switch around / modify it if you wanted it to open up slightly earlier. Wouldn't be surprised if that was mentioned before as well though :-).

@fenton is there no way for the controller to reat the throttle position sensor and turn on the E-Charger that way?

to me the physical switch looks like it may wear out over time, or even break if you hammer the throttle (which I tend to do when shifting hard)

I can assure you that nobody shifts harder that me lol. Its a nos switch designed for this.

You could do it on tps but that adds cost.

As Fenton mentioned, it's a nitrous switch meant for exactly this sort of use. And heck... you've probably already got switches down there detecting when the clutch or brake is pressed.

To be fair... my original thoughts on this were similar. Slapping a switch on the pedal seems a bit ghetto... but just a couple weeks ago I was replacing a switch on a friend's car because his brake lights stopped working. In the end, it's a perfectly good option and completely normal.

I believe at one point car manufacturers had switches mounted under the gas pedal as well.

ie. My 1992 Lexus SC400...

Oh look. Lexus IS-F as well...

I think installation should be included as part of the race.
