I had an awesome 951, it was just a little too over the top when my wife and were starting our family. But I find it comical that once I am done with my BRZ it will be quite similar to my 951, just a little more reasonable + heated seats

I could do without some of the other extra crap too, especially power windows. My perfect twin would leave the power windows, ABS, airbags, TPMS and rearview camera boxes unchecked on the order sheet.
You and I agree on some of that stuff, but the majority of people want a lot of that standard considering other vehicles come with them.
You can't blame a company for giving people what they want.

Considering a ~2760-2774lb curb weight, they did pretty good with keeping it pretty low, when an S14 is the same curb weight with 90's features.

oh yeah, they did a great job with the 86. When I first started looking at them I was sure I wanted a base Scion because I didn't need the extra "crap" in the BRZ...but once I saw what the actual weights were I was shocked and impressed...I just need to lay off the French fries like I said I would when I got heated seats.

Cool, I have one too, early VIN car, 791!! I need to get her back on the road, though.

I wish more car companies used gullwings, and personally feel DeLorean did it best when it came to mass produced gullwing doors: simply pull the lver and up they go! A lot of D owners have door popper solenoids installed to be able to open the doors when unlocking remotely.
