The normal dampers where also updated, with different damping characteristics and I believe a supplier change as well. Even if you read all the 2017 model update articles they mention changes to both spring rates and dampers. From what I've heard they feel slightly better on track and significantly better on the road. My car also has a lot of miles (86k+) so the update made sense to me.

Sorry can’t read through 250 pages so I’ll just ask. It’s a 3rd car driven hard 90% time. Upgraded rims and tires,rpf1 17x9 245/45/17, and the car gets bouncy at times. Rear strut is leaking. I’m on eibach springs now and would like to be around that ride height. Also I plan to boost soon. Would like to stay around $1000 give or take?

"Driven hard" - daily driving or track? What tires? What result you wish to get? (more comfort/compliance/less bouncy, or less roll, body movement mid curves?)

Also, you may want to reexamine the tire size you're using. A 40-series might be a better option for that width. |

Driven hard on back roads. No track yet but plan to try it eventually. I want it to handle as good as possible without riding to harsh. Wouldn’t want it to be much more harsh than stock. I do run errands in it, really I take an chance I can to drive it.

For normal alignments? No. If you want even camber you probably need rear LCA, but no guarantee. Toe arms stock have plenty of range almost always with sane camber numbers.

I just got the tires so got ride them out a while.Bfg GForce comp2 I believe. I think I’m gonna hold off on boost and get suspension best I can since it’s peaking and needs to be dealt with. That’s main reason I got this car anyway!! So what would be better springs with B8? Or would coil overs be better?

Spring rate question. I will be switching over to ISC N1 coilovers from my current set up of TRD lowering springs and Bilstein shocks. The shop says that the coilovers come with 10/7 rates. Does this seem reasonable? The car is a DD but is also run as an STX autocrosss car. The guys at the shop have run a BRZ and they said they had good results with the 10/7 set up. I believe the TRD are stiffer in the rear and a little concerned about stiffer front on the coilovers. They will do different spring rates if need be.
Comments, suggestions? Thanks for the help. And I don't need advice on different brands of coilovers as I have an ISC sponsorship deal. Cheers! |

It can feel fast, but a softer set up will be easier to drive, more consistent over different types of surfaces, have a better balance, and be more comfortable as a DD. - andrew |

My '13 BRZ is mostly track use, but some street with ~300+ mile drives to some of the tracks so I want to keep it street friendly.
I'm on RCE yellows, stock shocks/sways - camber bolts and plates up front with SPC LCA's out back to get to -3.5F/-2.4R with 0F / 1/16in R toe. SX2 (200TW) tires, rest stock. Tires are now wearing relatively uniformly across the tire with this camber setup (MPSS shoulder's absolutely got killed at very similar camber). No consistent reading on tire pyro after I drive off track and back to the pits (cools off a lot) - but nothing that looks bad either -- so I can mostly only go by wear for now... Pictures from the track show a lot of roll ... e.g. http://www.hart-photography.com/phot...#image=4111227 -- inside front tire contact patch looks to be at 1/3 width or less in lots of the turns. Will stiffer sway bars improve my cornering traction significantly, or just a little? I think the real answer would be stiffer springs, but that means shocks too so I'm into coilover money... not wanting to go there yet... I like the car as is and am having fun and tire wear with the SX2's is good across the tire - getting ~10 track days out of a set with proper rotation... But, I kind of like to tinker, and if a (relatively) cheap set of sway bars would improve things a fair amount I am willing to try them... Also - would stiffer sways mean I'd likely need to (get to) dial out some of the static camber? Thanks ! |
