I'm 68yo. Have owned this 2015 FRS three weeks.

I find myself smiling a lot behind the wheel.

Could it be this things' very similar to driving a crotch rocket ?

Ticket City for sure. I expect a reckless driving citation any day now....

Update: Went on a road today made for 4wd vehicles only. Forded 6 narrow streams with rocks, saw no other cars on that road. Stopped twice to pickup fallen tree limbs, so I could get down the road [note: bring a chain saw next time]. Saw four deer and one turkey. Lots of lst grear driving. Lots of potholes and very loose gravel. Thanks to limited slip diff I made it. Trashed underside of front bumper...big cut...where did I do that...in a parking lot...cement parking stop...with rebar sticking up...drove over it, then backed up...which badly cut open underside of bumper. Very difficult to determine actual front of car from driver's seat on this car. Have driven over these cement things several times...this time the worst.

I got as low as 21 mpg at times today (I keep trying for a low mileage record. note: Keep beating it hard Richard), but overall, after freeway drive home from the mountain drive, now 25.2 mpg for this tank. Overall a good day yet with couple of mishaps. Maybe I should stop playing 4wd with this car ? No way ! This car can do most anything ! And that little Subaru engine just sings, revving on mountain roads.

The lines of the car. The profile, the curves over the front tires, the roof, all of it.

The gearbox and the handling. It doesn't have the most power, but it's fun to shift a close-ratio gearbox. And it handles like a dream.

The color. I love Subaru's Dark Grey Metallic. It's such a deep-looking paint. It's almost like it isn't dark grey paint with metalflake, it's dark grey metalflakes in a clearcoat.

There's a yellow RS 1.0 on base here. I really like it. I think the side vents and black trim on the bumpers and skirts put a finishing touch on the style and look much better than a regular FR-S.

My favorite thing, hands down, is that it's fun to drive. So many of the new cars released are directed in one of two directions--1) look at all the horsepower, and straight line speed, or 2) look at all the neat gadgets this car comes with. But the 86 is genuinely just FUN to drive, not insanely fast, not too many bells and whistles--just fun. And when all of those other douchenozzles do fly-bys in their 400 hp mustangs, i'm still smiling because i'm undoubtedly still enjoying my drive more than they are.
Coming from a previous car with zero aftermarket support, i have to agree that the amount of aftermarket available for this car ensures that you don't get tired of it.

My favorite thing about it is that someone actually had the balls to go out and a limb and build it in this day and age of overweight, overpowered, utilitarian connectivity centers on wheels. It is a breath of fresh air and leads me to believe that there may be a glimmer of hope for the car enthusiast among us after all.

The feel. This is the only car I've owned that really has a sense of occasion when driving it. Maybe its the handling, maybe its the seating position, maybe its the transmission. All I know is I love looking at and driving the thing.

Slow in the straights but speedy in turns.
Lack of refinement but full of raw fun.
Downright affordable but provides something money can't buy (ok, sometimes)

I drive 35 miles each way to and from work every day. One day I checked Google map, and it showed me 4 accidents along my usual route and suggested that I take an alternative route that will take 57 mins instead of the usual 43 mins. I smiled and got excited over the extra 14 mins I get to spend in my 86. This is how much I love the drive.

Damn your avatar @Tcoat , seriously every time I read your post its as if Flanders is in my head.

Love how the car looks. Seriously above everything else, after 3 months I still look back every single time I get out of the car, everytime I come out of the store to see her peeking from the back of the lot.

The car is beautiful hands down, get comments all the time at how expensive the car looks regardless of what it costs.

It's probably the best-handling/looking/affordable sports car with a back seat (which was required as it's a 2nd family car). When I was looking for something to replace my Z with something similar that had a back seat, it was pretty much the only option. Are there any others in the same price range and category that have a back seat?
