So what do ou get in the base BRZ compared to 86 GT?

so far I can count: 17' wheels, digital speedo, bigger brakes? (to be confirmed), slightly nicer seats (in cloth trim), better headlights (really just fancier), start button , climate control, nicer cabin finish?

I am trying to work out what the extra 3k is for and if its worth it?

I'm very suprised the BRZ LTD is able to undercut the GTS 86 in pricing though, considering there is only 200 of them this year - more exclusive.
Subaru have done a sneaky, with the $37k driveway price, there are 10 things optional which is good but does not make it a better deal.

I have to agree, thats a very nice price position and actually a tempting proposition - I am tempted!

Think of it as a GTS with normal cd player and GT seats.

If thats really 37K driveaway, I am in trouble

Wife liked the Suby better, but we didn't want lots of useless crap in the GTS and expected Suby to be over 40k base, so have a GT on order.

Spoke to City Subaru, Brisbane.

They told me all dealer orders are now closed (which matches another poster) and from now on, orders will only be able to be placed through the online ordering system, which will open on the 16th.

There might be unallocated cars and if your order matches that, you'll get it quickly. I wonder if the site will tell you that - they are probably all auto's!!!

IMHO:

Navigation, neon day time running lights, start button/keyless lock, climate control, etc.

The only things I would want is bigger brakes, 17 alloys and leather seats - and thats a maybe, because alloys will most likely be changed and leather seats too hot for QLD.

Subaru coming in the middle between GT and GTS makes that choice harder - it has some things I don't want, but it doesn't have others so fits more with my requirements - and if 37k driveaway price is correct thats 3 k cheaper than GTS.

For me it's navagation, and climate control, heated seats.

That Nav unit is hopeless, and I don't need Nav where I am. It would be changed out for a decent headunit and sound system anyway.

Climate control air conditioning, I never use climate control function on any of my cars... Air con just sits on coldest, and mid fan... Except on the Lexus, that thing is Antartic cold!!!

Leather or cloth seats I don't care which ones I got, either are good. But heated seats are a complete and utter waste of time for me lol!

GTS over GT any day of the week, but BRZ spec seems just right for me. Toyota over Subaru for me for the whole dealership/servicing etc though, so it's a hard one.

Seriously I don't know how Lexus does it! My mum's Lexus is at least two times colder than any other car we have.

I find it kinda funny they even have that on Aus delivered cars. For QLD they should have auto cooled seats - now that I would pay for!

Seriously wish Subaru dealers would get their story straight.

Even if they could just tell us with all the pre-orders are gone or not. Some are saying they can still take orders, others are saying go the website on Monday - GAH!!!

I thought the heated seats would be useless in Queensland. When its cold at night they are great. I don't like warm air from heater on my face. So I can have seat warm and cool air on my face.

Remember Toyota is trying to appeal to the general population.
