That's why you finance with TFS for one month to get the discount then refinance.

car is hot and very limited production and it's difficult for get below MSRP. even more difficult for getting BRZ over FR-S since BRZ's production is lower than FRS.
There are still many people on wait list for this car and i believe price wont drop for 2014 year as well. I really like that companies make limited production on these cars.

I paid MSRP for mine, but the dealer threw in the shark-fin antenna and the trunk mat for free. They also worked with TFS to get my interest rate down to 0.9% for a four year loan. The FR-S makes the fourth new vehicle my wife and I have purchased with Toyota, so they were willing to work on us to keep us in the brand. I was all set to leave after the tC since they didn't have any true sports cars, and then lo and behold they bring out the 86 haha. Of course it may have had something to do with the fact that most people aren't crazy enough to buy a RWD sports car as a DD during Midwest winters either.

just be glad that for a car this in demand you're not paying over MSRP, personally i was glad to see no haggle pricing.

Just to follow up, why is the interest rate so high for some of ya (over 2%)? I thought Toyota/Scion has been advertising a low interest rate at like 1%? I guess it's only for certain models and is also based on whether you're qualified or not?

It depends on your area, the dealership, and your sales person. I got a pretty good deal on my FR-S when it first came out because my dealership was a Toyota dealership that sold Scions also(as opposed to a dealership with a dedicated section for Scions), and my sales person was eager to sell the first and only FR-S they got. So I got a pretty good deal on mine. To this day I'm pretty sure that same dealership only sold like two other FR-S's. You're better off looking in higher income areas that have the twins in stock because those don't sell easily, rich people would rather have a nice BMW 3 series with proper navigation over one of the twins.
