Supra will be built to compete with the GTR would be my guess. I don't see it in the 50's.

I dont think it will be a GTR competitor. I thought there was an interview where Tetsuya Tada (spelling) had said, if he is in charge of the project, that he wants to keep everything affordable. One of the downfalls of the supra in 1998 was the huge price tag...I would guess they are aiming mid to high 40's

The isf originated as the mk5, so I don't know how out of range it would be to expect the mk5 to be more expensive than the mk4 15 years ago.

When asked about a more powerful FR-S, Tada San dismisses a turbocharged version because a “300-HP with a turbo would be tasteless in this day and age. If we pursue power without regard to fuel consumption, the market won’t accept it.
So what would that make a 350-550HP twin turbo car?
This tell me one thing.
The next Supra will most likely be some sort of HYBRID!

Again, I must reference Tetsuya Tada, he had stated that if he is in charge of the project (which now we know that he is) that he will make sure it is NOT a hybrid.

I think he said something about the hybrid technology not being ready for use in sports cars

EDIT: http://www.topgear.com/uk/photos/toy...aki-2012-08-24

"Tantalisingly, neither of them would formulate anything concrete, so it remains as thus: the GT 86 is the hot new thing on the block, and a new Supra is "just one avenue of sports car Toyota could take. There are others too." One thing is for sure however: if Tada-san has his way, the new sports car definitely won't be a hybrid.

"Our LMP1 programme gave us a good insight into hybrid performance, but for me, I think current hybrid technology is not good for road sports cars. I don't really want that." I inform him about the cosmically-quick Porsche 918 Spyder - built by a company both he and Sasaki greatly admire from an engineering perspective - and he laughs again. "That's a very good hybrid drivetrain, but it's for the man who has an unlimited amount of money. I don't like that. I want to build a car that everybody can afford, a car for the ordinary people, not something that requires too much money." A champion of the everyday petrolhead, no?"
