Update: I bought the Greddy Sp. I'm enjoying the exhaust so far. Very nice quality. The sound is a nice deep grumble on startup, and in many ways, it gets quieter during the drive. At 83db it isn't loud and there is no drone. I like the 4.5'' tips. They fit the holes nicely. The angle of the tips is curved and less angled than the Perrin/Speedfactory. I think 4.5'' tips with a Perrin/Speedfactory-like-slash-cut would have been perfect, just like the STI exhaust (too expensive to get, IMO), but the look is still very good, and I am happy with the purchase.

I recently had a full 3" exhaust installed with catless header and I understand the vibration pain in your skull. The drone is awful. I am looking at the Greddy exhaust, but am wondering if I will still have issue with the UEL header being catless.

The best I can describe it is that there's certain sound frequencies that goes through the head making it quite uncomfortable. It only occurred at lower RPMs (around 1500-2500), so it would pass quickly while shifting through gears, or while cruising. Since I have an A/T, I cruise in the city on 6th gear at this RPM range sometimes. It may be different for the M/T people.

Also note that I do believe I am more sensitive to sounds than others. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy loud exhausts, loud music, etc. But there's just certain sounds/frequencies that really bother me that others around me can't hear or don't notice. Like when an electrical device is emitting a faint sound in an otherwise silent environment.

HOWEVER, I don't know if I've gotten used to it, or the exhaust has quieted down after putting a few hundred miles on it, but I no longer feel this "uncomfortable" feeling in my head anymore. Which is why I have decided not to trade/go back to stock for now. I still find it a bit loud sometimes, but at least it's not uncomfortably loud.

I hope this helps you in your decision = )

This exhaust only let's you know it's there if you're WOT. And still the sound tube in the car is louder.

Maybe. Catless headers are loud but the exhaust is 83db stock.

Question

Your car looks great! Love the exhaust and rims.
Are you running headers?

What do you think about switching up to this exhaust with the catless header and all other exhaust parts stock?

Does this exhaust still have the honeycomb like the STI? (not sure if this means it is resonated)

No honeycomb. Resonated happens at the axle forward section like on the stock exhaust. If Greddy would have put the tips from the Elite on the SP Supreme but used 4.5" vs 4" tips then the Supreme would be perfect. The honeycomb would be a nice effect too.

So is this basically the only difference between the two? Honeycomb and smaller tips on the Elite vs larger and no honeycomb on the Supreme?

The SP Elite is discontinued and it was just an axleback. Those things and the angle of the double walled tips is bigger and sharper like how it is on the Perrin. The only Greddy one looks to be the CS GTS Ver 2 which does have a 4.5" tip and a sharp double walled edge.

Looks like DSG Performance still has it in stock. (I am waiting to hear back)
If I can get the axleback, would it be quieter as it would be with the stock pipes?

Greddy supreme sp, what for headers ?

So I just installed my greddy supreme sp and it sounds real good. I’m now looking for some UEL headers to match up to it, but I’m not sure what brand to go with to compliment my exhaust thus far. Any ideas would be great thanks !

JDL and Tomei would be who I'd go for first
