My paint is garbage and had to be fixed under warranty by Subaru.

Aside from that and the chirping HPFP, my car has been perfect.

I've got an early '13 Limited with 46k, 6MT. Been running just fine, starts up every day, no real mechanical problems but there are stupid little problems such as having to replace the rear view mirror bracket, window sticks when it's freezing causing me to reset the switch, squeaky clutch pedal when it's warm, oil smell that I suspect is coming from the rear cam cover (easy fix), god awful touchscreen stereo, pretty thin paint.

I've replaced the wheels & tires, camber bolts, high flow drop in filter, trans & diff oil, tint, & springs. It's been a great little car. Certainly more reliable than my e46 for a daily.

2014. 15k miles. No real issues. It's my winter beater so it's been seeing some snow and temps well below freezing. It spends most of the time parked outside too.

Just got rid of my crickets by switching to shell v power nitro.

2013 Stock BRZ Premium 6MT w/35K. Just replaced the original Michelins. New tires are much better, but there is a good argument for the enjoyment of low-traction corner drifting.
Took the car to dealer 2X, but balked at $500 30K service and did it myself. Change my own oil and rotate my own tires. Car is ridiculously easy to work on.
I've owned old British sports cars and my last car was a MINI Cooper S. BRZ is much more civilized than British cars and more powerful and solid than MINI.
I've had none of the numerous problems complained about on this site. Subaru flat fours make odd noises and I occasionally see condensation in one of my tailights.
I've never experienced better feel for what the car's doing handling wise than I do in this car and I've never felt as comfortable with the tail out than I do in this car. Being able to vary the stability control/traction control aids is a joy.
I don't have any complaints about the interior; the seats are great and all controls are easy to get used to.
The transmission is notchy when cold and shifts must be deliberate for a few minutes. After warmup, the shifter's a joy. The 2-3 shift works best either very deliberately or very fast, no in-between. The transmission/shifter has a personality just like any manual transmission. I love it.
Best sports 2+2 for the money in the world.

My quick review is it's a great little car, more quick than it's fast. The torque dip is noticeable and is this car's biggest flaw IMO but easily remedied. The driving experience is like non other in this price range. I came from an RSX-S with I/H/E cams & Hondata so obviously the BRZ is not as fast but is significantly more nimble and hugs curves/corners like the RSX wishes it could.

Garage queen.

2015 Series.Blue I picked up in February of 2015 has 12K miles and no real issues. Crickets come and go (I use Chevron exclusively and maybe I should try something different), Cold misfires when first warming up, and my seat belt buckle squeaks. Other than those little things that I have read are normal, I absolutely adore the car.

2013 brz limited with 40k miles. garaged for most of the PNW winters the past 3 winters and hasn't been driven since thanksgiving.

she's far from stock, she far from babied around and has 10k miles of tuned UEL awesomeness. 0 issues.

bought it Friday night and dealer gave me the wtf for changing the oil at 1005 miles. spooled it to 6k with 2/3rds throttle a few times on the way home then full lift to help get the rings seated. game on.

the salt trucks are rolling so parking it until the roads clear. the rust has consumed the fasteners on the Tribeca so trying to avoid that with this car.

Just hit 70k on my 2013 Limited which I bought new in May 2013. No issues at all and still love it. It's garage kept but driven as my daily 100 miles per day back\forth to work.

My friend's Fiesta is in much better condition paint-wise (same year). The same goes for my family's Silverado (2010 so it might not be affected by the same restrictions in solvents). I would say the BRZ's paint seems below average in terms of durability. It does look very shiny however.

The chips can hardly be seen from a distance but they are annoying when washing the car up close.

I forgot to mention the crickets, they come and go for me as well. At this point I don't care as long as the car performs well mechanically. I only hear them when I park and turn the volume down anyway.

I have a feeling it will be one of those things that creates nostalgia when in 20 years someone posts a video of a restored first gen BRZ and you hear the "criiii-criiii-criiii-criiii-criiii-criiii"

I don't want to scare OP so I will re-iterate. Fun car, would buy again
