Although I look forward to a mid-engine Vette,,, I'll miss a front engine Vette as well. The last few generations have been pretty awesome cars. I also wonder/worry about the price point for a mid-engine Vette. Somehow I don't see a High $40's - Low $50k version of this and it's certainly available with a C7.

Well the previously linked article says that production of the 19s hasn't changed from last year. The plant is getting a whole new paint shop so they probably need to shut down to tie that in. Be little sense in having tours continue while in shutdown. Even if the mid is ready for production (I doubt it) then it would take a shutdown to adapt the lines to run both models. I am not seeing anything unusual that would mean the end of the front engine version.
