Improving Shifter Feel

Hello everyone!

I've been looking for the past week on how exactly I can improve the shifter feel with this transmission. As some of u may know I have had my trans replaced under warranty just under 1000 miles ago. This is a brand new transmission and I'm still getting the typical super notchy 2nd and 3rd gear shifts not including the grinding feel that makes you cringe in 2nd and 4th.

I've looked around the forum and have considered the following to improve the feel of shifting;

Whiteline positive shift kit?
Rear shifter bushing? - I have a perrin one that I never installed.
Shifter assembly? - TRD/Kartboy
Transmission bushing?

I had motul gear 300 fluid in my last transmission and started having trans problem not even 4000 miles later resulting into getting a whole new trans. I am not blaming it on the motul but I did hear an increase in the TOB rattle with this fluid as well as becoming harder to shift when the trans is cold.

Any tips/tricks/ advice other people have when tackling the shifting feel?

Motul 300 improved everything for me? That sounds like the exact opposite of what happened when I made the swap.

What exactly improved with the fluid change?

I had the same results as @Summerwolf. Noticeable gains over stock fluid. Been going good for 20,xxx+ miles.

Motul 300 gear oil and a heavy shift knob made everything feel great for me.

General trans noise went down. Smoother shifts, less clunky, and the cold "warm up" clunkiness is almost completely gone.

When I swapped fluids I didn't think it would do much, but....damn.

Motul 300
Kartboy SS + bushing
Whiteline trans mount

Made it feel more precise in gear changes still rough when cold but goes away, I would like to try a heavy shift knob as well just to see what difference it makes, OEM knob seems to work great over the others I have tried. No rattles with this setup at all.

I changed fluid on my previous transmission to motul gear 300 and 4000 miles later I gave the dealership my car to have it looked over.
I was experienced an increase in trans whine as well as a TOB rattle, with notchiness being severely worse. They replaced the transmission and replaced my TOB.

I seem to have had the complete opposite compared to the benefits you had by switching.

Sorry, had to.

I put the motul in my rear diff too. The factory fill was gross. Changed it again after 10K and the motul looked good, refilled it with motul. IDK what to tell you, but I'm betting your tranny had issues prior to the fluid swap.

Maybe it did.. But unfortunately I experienced them right after the fluid swap.. I would possibly consider doing the change again if it will really help. But at this time I'm skeptical.

Honestly, I would be too after your experience. I just don't see anything else with the same consistent view.

Weighted shift knobs make a huge difference in smoothness. Raceseng seemed to get it just right with the 600g Slammer.
