No. Stock red line. Only difference is that I believe Delicious pulls throttle instead of an abrupt fuel cut. But that should be even easier on the valvetrain.

Nothing inherently wrong with the stock rocker design. It's only the swedge on the axle pin being garbage / off center / not deep enough. Just Sh*tty quality control. Nothing special, easy to fix. All element does with those is put a new axle pin in and swedge it correctly like Subaru should have done from the factory. Inspect all of yours, replace the bad ones. Many of them are probably fine.

Have you been logging/monitoring the oil & coolant temps, oil pressures, knocks etc? .. if so what kind of temps have you been seeing before this happened? combined with a twin screw SC and E85, it sounds like there are so many things that may go wrong at the track

yikes, that's an easy fix (for a tuner) that I would never consider. Have you been maxing out the injectors?

I've done some logs and they were clean. I also monitor oil and coolant temps with Torque. I'm working on a logging solution that is more race friendly so I'll have more accurate logs in the future.

As temps go, they are very stable. I have the Robispec Cooling Solution, which is overkill for what I do with the car.

what kind of oil/coolant temps did you see before this happened?

don't get me wrong but I don't believe the terms "overkill" or the "overcooling" when it comes to tracking with an FI car.. especially with the power levels that you currently have and the nature of the TS type SCs that are prone to create excessive heat and pressure on the internals .. I wish you the best of luck man,

just curious, what type of stacked-plate oil cooler does Robispec kit comes with?

Highest I've ever seen with the Robispec is 220. This also wasn't a track day, but an AutoX at a track. So 14 runs at 40sec each, with at least 5 minutes of cool down between, rather than 20 minute run groups.

I agree that no properly set up cooling solution can be too much. By overkill I meant that my demands on it are WELL within its capacity.

It's a full race radiator replacement. I forget how thick the core is, but at least 2 inches, with the oil cooler integrated into the side tank. It keeps the oil temp very stable and eliminates the need for a thermostatic valve.

When I went FI, I knew cooling would become a weak point, so I went with what I felt was the best solution available at the time. This gives me shorter warmup times, no tstat to fail, and oil cooling at slow speeds/stationary.

Oh and the Massive increase in water cooling capacity.

ok I see, I pass 230-235 F on my very first lap

I agree with you on oil cooler thermostats or the thermostatic so called "high flow" plates .. they're obviously not ideal but we still need something to keep both oil and coolant temps within the range, if you think about they both affect each other to bring the temps to an equilibrium ,

I also would like to utilize the OEM coolant thermostat to manage temps .. for that reason, I will try something different soon, I will post a how-to and results on this board

Updates are going to be slow and far between. He has a lot of work to do on other cars. Looks like my summer is over.

I'm not familiar with that thread. But the engine was not over revved.

Right no. That's my point. His motor wasn't over revved. I'm on my phone, I can't exactly link it.
It's name is "high rev failure"
Or something along that

Need a new toaster
