I think what @pancake meant is if you can tun the OTS flexfuel map permanently, or of it needs an e-tune. Not whether or not you need the hardware.

connecting to the rear 02 disables the rear o2 sensor and this is used by ecu for cruise fueling. this may result in slightly worse cruise fuel economy. It will also cause a fail/not ready indication on emissions teats.

the evap connection is generally prefered, although the rear 02 is slightly easier to connect to, hence rear 02 kits are generally a little cheaper as you dont need the ecu harness, but you can cut and splice wiring if you dont want to buy the ecu harness its not that hard.

Thanks for the insight! Makes sense!

OK,

The flex tune should run fine, but like any tune its worth logging it initially just to make sure, im not sure if shiv is charging for flex tunes and the price may include logging and revision

How's your cold starts with the e85? So far with pretty much all e85... It's not always the best.

Right, that's what i meant -

I know with the SBD turbo, there's an OTS tune that Shiv provides, but you are urged to get an e-tune as soon as possible. So that doesn't seem to be the case with the Flex Fuel kit, although it seems to be encouraged (or at least post some logs)

thanks

How did you log your data? Was it just normal driving for a few minutes or a few pulls?

I just bought a flex kit from a group member. Do I need a flex fuel map from Shiv to install? Before I do an e tune?
