I drive the GT-S and, while its fun hitting 6000 RPM to get that kick, the lift at 6000 rpm seems to be a loss in every day driving. I look forward to the completely new engine and RWD.

you dont say 13.4km/L in germany. you say for example X.X L / 100km. and 13.4L on 100km would be high for a sportscar. gotta go very soon so i just tryed to convert the numbers. my appologys if they are wrong as im really in a rush right now. 13.4km = 1 L 1km = 0.07 L 100km = 7,46 L 7,46 l/100km = 31.78 mpg 1 l/100km = 235.2145833 mpg 1 mpg = 235.2145833 l/100km |

MPG
Ok.. based on the combined japanese cycles, when compared to our EPA combined numbers you get a conversion factor of about 1.85 when averaged among the 3 cars they draw comparison from.
The FT86 fuel economy will probably be very close to the miata, 13x1.85 is 24.15... if I had to guess I think the official numbers will be in the 22-29 neighborhood. With a 24/25 combined number. Which puts it squarely in line with the 4cyl Genesis Coupe as far as fuel economy numbers go. |

Oh, regarding the brakes, guessing that the high spec has vented discs front and rear while the low spec has solid discs in the rear (comparing the kanji to what's there for the crz, mx5 and rx8 ) |

For actual fuel economy comparison:
The spec sheet gives the Miata 11.8 L/km, or 27.8 mpg, the EPA gives the Miata 28mpg highway, 24 mpg combined. RX-8 is listed at 22mpg, 23mpg highway by the EPA. If the heavier and more powerful FRS is actually more efficient than the already frugal for a sports car MX-5 (as the spec sheet claims), I'll be really impressed. |

50 Liters is about 13.2 gallons, so I would assume that is the size of the fuel tank. A little small in my opinion, but considering the ft86's efficiency, it should suffice.

^Both my S2000 and Integra GS-R have 50 liter tanks (13.2 gallons). I guess it is a pretty standard size. It's not that big, but it's enough for a full day at the track for a DE event (just barely)
Can someone please translate the brake information? I want to know how large the discs are, the type of caliper and how many pistons there are please.

It would be nice for this to beat the Miata in handling, fun to drive, and fuel economy. |
