P0021 OBD-II Trouble Code: Camshaft Position A - Timing Over-Advanced
So I got this code on my BRZ and I've replaced the OCV with a genuine one from Subaru. I've also done an oil change after the light came on so I know that its not the oil's fault on why this code is popping up. And there's also a knocking noise coming from the same side of the block. I'm pretty sure that they are both related but then again I could be totally wrong. I've also tried to clear the code multiple times but it'll come back on the third time I start it after clearing. I've been stuck on this issue for over a month now. Will I have to rebuild the block or is it still safe? Any info would help.

When you cleared the code, did you do it by disconnecting the negative terminal of the battery for a spell?
What weight oil are you using? Are the electrical connections clean and tight? humfrz |

No I didn't but I'll try that.
I was using 0W-20 until my last oil change and now I use 5W-20 I'm pretty sure they are. I've followed them as far down as I could from just on top of the engine bay |
