Will driving ever dissapear?

I was watching eX Driver, an anime where driving has all but disappeared and I was wondering do you think AI controlled cars will replace driving in the future? If so, will our hobby be dead?

Yes, but not until a long time in the future. I'm sure people would still customize their pod whatever thing to some degree though. And I have a feeling that racing would still take place, because I can't imagine that people would ever want to give up complete control.

As the newer generations are born into higher technology, i believe we may have a significant amount of AI controlled cars but not in the near future. Maybe, my great grandchildren will be the first to drive/sit in a AI car but not now.

Although, depending on how much oil we have left in the future we may see cars slowly disappearing in the next 100 years. Maybe even the sports are the ones to go first in the future, as people may be protesting the amount of gas/oil/tires they use up. That's just my theory.
