With the square bore/stroke we might be able to rev this thing another 1k, maybe it just needs to breath better? I can imagine it now...."TRD intake/exhaust RPM increase +30HP Option:$2399" |

I know 200hp is a little underestimated... It has to be! I hope it will be at least 220bhp.

True, with further weight reduction and little more power bump from bolt-ons, this car will be fast enough at the corner and straightline. It doesn't need to be crazy fast on the straightline like muscle car.

I figure getting the car down to 2650lbs without doing anything too drastic shouldn't be too difficult.
Couple that with a hopefully attainable BHP of 230 and that will put the power/weight ratio right there with the S2K CR(w/o top, audio, AC) = CRAAAAAZY FUN! |

However,.......
if you do any time of time attack or HPDE, rules may say that Fixed Bucket seats will need to be FIA approved....which only last 5 years. Just something to think about for those that are going to pull their seats out. I have done my research, and the cost vs weight loss...is better to stick with a stock interior, until you're ready to put LOTS of money into gutting the interior, roll bar, bucket seats, with seat back brace.

So when drivers (and maybe pax) in the car, full tank of fuel, maybe a bag or two, possibly a bit of a tool kit in the boot, maybe somewhat closer to 50:50
With a full car 2+2 up and boot full of stuff it may have had too much rear weight for almost all drivers - As almost everyone thinks they are a better driver than they actually are. |

Trying to get some practical stuff going in the real world. Missing a lot of interesting news it seems.

53/47 is V8 Miata distribution, and that gets along fine on a much shorter wheelbase. I think we'll be okay.

weight dist at 53/47 , just doesn't sound like they work hard to make a sport car and with that weight all the small detail its important to make good sport car. and with 200PS, 151 lb-ft with a 12.5:1 CR it will be hard to keep up with S2000 and Miata in auto x. numbers are important, it is part of the performance of the car, but you have to drive the car to find out for real review. you can see that in Nissan GTR with 3800 lb.

Keep in mind the 53/47 weight distribution is static... The moving/at speed weight distribution is MUCH more important, and with the Diffuser and flat-underbody that this car probably has to get the 0.27 Cd I'm guessing it's going to make a bit of downforce at the back at speed, this will help with evening out the weight distribution.

That weight balance is perfect, it won't snap over steer as easily. I believe I read that this car is made to under steer as it is easily for drivers to control (at least not so experienced drivers). You can easily add a stiffer sway bar in the rear which will increase some weight and cause more over steer if you'd like. You can also relocate the battery to the rear if you want. I'm sure most of us will get coilovers for the the frs which we can corner balance.
