Yey! My SSR's came home Got them dirt cheap - 600$ shipped from J-Land! Only downside - will need to repaint them - cuz 2 of them have curb rash. But that not the downside at another point - I wanted to paint them in a Custom color anyway - so will have a chance!

17x8 ET35 - and weight is only 6.2kg! Love them already

And another project I started few days ago:

Custom fender inserts. They will come with detachable center fin (not pictured) and some mesh in the front area Soon will post pics of them done - and painted

Letting resin dry and gettin it to be sticky really helps to lay down CF. After i got CF all around the parts - i still waited a bit for CF cloth to stick to the parts. Once its done - layed few more heavy coats fo resin on top.

After first few coats got dry - sanded all the not needed cf out from the parts - and sanded surface with 80grit - to get some routh inperfections out. And off it goes another few heavy coats.

Tomorow will sand it down even more, with some lighter grit sandpaper - and if it will all even - will shoot clear on it! looks quite better then original to be honest

how did you get the factory vinyl to come off so well? im having a hard time

Use a heat gun over small areas. You can put more heat over it to the melting point of the film so it does not brake. Just don't hold the heat gun there to melt the actual plastic. :-D but I guess you will know when that happens. The secret is to continuously heat up that area ro soften the film. This is how I did it.

Got fender inserts done today:

Center fin will be removable and im thinking leaving it not attached - for the people to place it where they would like, as it has slanted shape - so it can be placed in all the different ways. In the front parts (where the 2 small places for the bolts are) it will be thin mesh insert in black - and after molding this place will be cut open (with around 4mm edge around this place to hold the mesh).

Also - got my Duck tail back from manufactures - so its now actual product Gonna get it to painters - so pretty soon will have pics of it painted / installed.

haha - slow down - I cant do everything at once... Its slowly getting ready... The problem is that its hard to find a good reupholsters shop who can keep up with time frame / and make everything as perfect as I want... This is why its taking a bit too long now with the armrest

I'm sure you noticed you just got about 1200342 new thanks from me.

I hadn't seen this thread before. I keep scrounging for Firestorm FRS pics for inspiration.. I'm trying to formulate a plan for my own car. I've had it since 6.28 and haven't done anything to it yet.

Now that I've seen your work I know EXACTLY what I want. I just HATE that I am not skilled enough to do this myself. I'll GLADLY tackle the challenge of installing an F/I system or exhaust components or brakes but I am NOT the kind of person that can do what you're doing here and have it come out the way it should.

I want to do all the same CF inserts with the red CF. I want the 86 insert that lights up and the fog lights.... you haven't done a single thing yet that I don't like.

Looking forward to seeing this painted and on the car. I like that it wraps.
