2020 BRZ tS?

Sorry if this is a repost but didn't see it anywhere else.

https://www.torquenews.com/1084/new-...-making-return

Is this clickbait or are there any other details known at this point regarding a 2020 tS?

Possibly click bait, but the EPA website does list the TS as a 2020 model on its website.

Interesting.. I wonder if this supposed release will replace this year's special edition, like in 2018 when (excluding the 50th editions) we only received the tS and Type RA and no Series._____ models.

2020 BRZ tS?

If this is true this adds credibility to the rumor that 2020 would be the last year of this generation with a new model coming in 2021. Sounds like a last hurrah for the ZN6/ZC6.

Super sad (as a tS owner) if the 2020 tS has a carbon roof...

Meh. It is an article based on an article based on looking at EPA numbers. Reading much more than that they submitted numbers to the EPA into it is speculation not facts.
Totally miss how it adds credibility to any claims of a 2021 refresh. Just looks like they may be considering adding the Ts as a regular trim level if anything.

A carbon roof would raise the price considerably. I don't think it is very likely.

Yep
As a structural component it would also require crash testing and recertification for the US market. That is not an expense that they would go through for 500 or so units.

Hadn’t considered the possibility of the tS becoming a regular trim level. I just assumed it would be another limited run. Then again they’re only numbered in the US right?

No idea if they are numbered elsewhere. Also don't know how well they sold. If the sales were there then moving it into a regular trim level would make sense. Suck for the people that bought them as a SE though.

Well the wrx/Sti are getting a new makeover for 2021 and the last Gen to be manual gear boxes. Confirmed by subaru. So probably the same for the brz.
