Is it worth it?

Hey guys! Soo.. Im about to trade my car for a Scion FRS. The question is.. Is it worth it?
Does the FRS live up to the hype?
Is it worth the $31,000 (after taxes)?
Does it have any issues (engine/chassis/interior)
Hows the power on it?

Ill add more to the questions once i think of more

Take it for a test drive. Test drive other cars in the same price range with the same features you are looking for. I feel my car is worth it, but some have been unhappy and went for a genesis coupe/370z/used 1 series/etc..

Research and compare. This is the best way to avoid buyer's remorse.

I don't know about 31000, but it's definintely worth the 27000 i paid.. why's yours coming out to 31k? The only compareable car in that price range is the genesis coupe r spec (in my opinion).

Buy a Miata.

[/trollpost]

I think its a worthy consideration.

How many STX prepped NB's can you buy for an FR-S?

I don't think a Lambo will come up next to you in a Civic SI or Miata and rev their engine to you...

You will lose though, i did.

I got the BRZ but yes I think it's worth it.

Yes it lives up to the hype in handling.

After all the bad things I heard on the power and my failure to do an aggressive test drive the first time, I agreed. A second and third test drive proved to me it should be fine and now after 5 days of driving it around I definitely think the power is enough and I'm a mile above sea level.

Mine has no chassis issues but with 200 miles on it hard to say how that will go.

If power is a major focus for you, pass on this car. If you could see yourself buying an MX5 because of how it drives, then yes this will work nicely for you.

All I can say is that for my needs, wants, and expectations... Yes, it's worth it.

ha ha ha.

On the FT86 forums asking if it's worth it. It's like going to the drum circle and asking, "do you enjoy marijuana and the grateful dead?"

But other than that, yeah... It's totally worth it!

31,000 for an almost 25k msrp fr-s? the limited brz i ordered came out to be 30.4k after TTL. do your homework before purchasing. unless youre ballin, then do what you want.

Edit: nvm i see you live in canada. iirc its more expensive there? just drive down to one of the NE states to buy it and drive it back.

Everyone please remember that people post on this site from all over the world. Before someone goes ape-shit over price after taxes and delivery, keep in mind that in Canada we pay significantly more tax than most (if not all?) states. In Ontario it's 13%, add on freight, etc. and we're around $31,000.

Comparing other cars from other countries after tax to our FR-S after tax is like comparing a nipple to a baby bottle. No comparison. Genesis Coupe R Spec is going to be subject to the same 13% tax and charges...

I crossed shop this car against the v6 Mustang, 2.0T Hyundai Genesis, Mazda Miata Sport, as well as various used cars from 80's gm bodies to SN-95 Mustangs. I feel like I made the right choice.
