The wife's 17 Impreza was on it's 8th head unit recall when she traded it in. Her new Outback's nav has some sort of speech impediment that won't let it say where your next step in the directions is. "continue 800 meters and then turn left on to.........." It made for some interesting last minute maneuvers driving through NYC with Ultra yelling "That turn, you need to make that turn" across a few lanes of traffic. Did not crash.

I'm working on getting the ATC tapes. They were on an IFR flight plan but from what I hear ATC was asking for turns and they weren't/couldn't comply. Crash happened shortly after being asked just to hold wings level and 4k ft. Could be an instrument error or something I think the weather was pretty bad at the time. If you want the nitty gritty details I do follow these things. NTSB preliminary will be out in 14 days (the final will be a year or two but often the prelim has enough to know what probably happened). Sent from my SM-G975U using Tapatalk |

Peachtree Dekalb Airport (PDK) is a bad spot to have issues after takeoff or on landing. There is literally no place to go down that is good. I've personally only flown out of there once and it was in a helicopter (my wife gave me an hour lesson as a gift once). I would not want to fly a small plane out of there on a regular basis.

Yea, it has a huge number of flight ops every day, as it is the second busiest airport in GA (something like 650 flights a day). Its actually closer to downtown Atlanta than Hartsfield (ATL) airport is, plus it is much more General Aviation/small plane friendly.
