In the WRX, I had to disable CarPlay notifications in Apple Maps or else the app on the car would crash every time there was a pop-up. To get it to work again I had to turn off the car, open and close the door to power off the h/u, and then power everything back on again. This still persists with the latest update to Starlink. I don't think Subaru was ready to keep up with how quickly phone software changes. Based on what you said, the older versions have issues beyond that.

The flight track is pretty wild. https://flightaware.com/live/flight/.../KRUQ/tracklog
I'm working on getting the ATC tapes. They were on an IFR flight plan but from what I hear ATC was asking for turns and they weren't/couldn't comply. Crash happened shortly after being asked just to hold wings level and 4k ft. Could be an instrument error or something I think the weather was pretty bad at the time. If you want the nitty gritty details I do follow these things. NTSB preliminary will be out in 14 days (the final will be a year or two but often the prelim has enough to know what probably happened).

The recalls were because each time they updated the head unit the back up camera would stop working. That is why it was an actual recall not just an update. She had all sorts of issues with the head unit freezing, displaying the wrong times and just generally going screwy at random points. The outlander has already shown the wrong time twice. The clock screwed up once and the GPS told us it was going to be a 26 hour drive from NYC to Niagara Falls. That is not accurate even if it did feel that long with Ultra riding shotgun!

I saw it on a newsfeed this AM, but no real details. Sorry to hear about the manager's brother.

Peachtree Dekalb Airport (PDK) is a bad spot to have issues after takeoff or on landing. There is literally no place to go down that is good. I've personally only flown out of there once and it was in a helicopter (my wife gave me an hour lesson as a gift once). I would not want to fly a small plane out of there on a regular basis.

Both of them were pilots and used to fly in and out of there all the time. They flew their small planes around like most people drive.

Yea, it has a huge number of flight ops every day, as it is the second busiest airport in GA (something like 650 flights a day). Its actually closer to downtown Atlanta than Hartsfield (ATL) airport is, plus it is much more General Aviation/small plane friendly.

One of the guys was the brother of one of our managers. Not sure if he was piloting or not yet.
