Dealer won't disable Ecu features?

There's a space ahead of the cup holders for a cell phone (that's where I put mine) - simple solution, why go through the pita of deactivating the chime?

I find it helpful to be able to pull the e-brake to turn off the DRL's when I want to leave the car on while at the drive-in movies (I know - old school).
