So, do you hear the sound only when the engine is running? Does it matter if the car is moving or not?

Did you follow up on Tcoat 's idea that it may be the head units cooling fan? Maybe pull the fuse for the radio to see if it makes a difference.

I’ll try and give that a go. But to answer your question, it’s only when the engine is running and up to temp in cold weather. There are times you can hear it when you’re moving, but most of the time it’s drowned out by engine noise. If I rev slightly, it seems to speed up the noise or make it a higher pitch at times.

OK.

I suggest you try to describe the sound you are hearing and give examples of what it sounds like.

Honestly, the best way I know to describe it (because I can't find any other videos out there to help describe the noise) is just a chirping pump.. the chirping increases in speed and pitch when you give the car gas and it's always there.. My guess is the sound is coming from behind the firewall where the engine sits. I'm not that mechanically inclined to know what this could be. When you pop the hood all you hear is the sound of DI working, no chirping. I just took another video after a quick trip to the store and will post it here in the next few minutes.

OK, I heard a metallic clicking sound at the end of the video. Is that what you hear while the engine is running?

Maybe others with better hearing will chime in.
