Does it worth to buy and fix this BRZ ?

Hello, since i am constant lookout for BRZ in my country press/auction sites i found the car. Seller wants around 11,000$.

It looks like it had small accident. So far extent of damage is unknow, but any of you have idea how much will it cost to repair ? ( at least for obvious damage)

It looks like i will need two rims, two airbags, skin pulling/shaping, repainting, also will need to get lamps, and so on.

Since where only few donors in my country, i will have to get parts from other places, maybe someone could help me out ?

Hello,

Your fellow friend Lithuanian is writing. I have seen that Subaru in autoplius. Damage definitely does not look too bad. Mainly suspension is damaged, but it shouldn't be very expensive to repair (as long as differential and steering rack is OK). But I can guarantee that this vehicle is still in US, as photos are from auction site. When importing to Lithuania, you will need to pay 10% custom taxes and 21% VAT extra on top of all. Thus, extra costs are at least 33.1% (it will be more, as customs calculate car value by themselves, which is higher than you actually paid). It wouldn't surprise me if costs also did not include shipping, which is $1000 extra.

Anyhow, I took the risk and bought damaged BRZ by myself. Should reach Lithuania this week. Rebuild thread coming soon!

very likely the subframe might be damaged. One of my 240sx had similar damage, end up replacing the subframe, suspension arms and axles. looks like the passanger side pillar air bag also need replacement

For parts, sure, I would say it's worth $11,000 if you have the time and resources to part it. Getting this thing back to OEM with a possible rebuilt title? I wouldn't even touch this thing when there are so many other nice examples of used BRZs out there (this isn't exactly a rare car anymore).

By the time all is said and done, I would think it cost less to fix this thing back up to be on a sub-par to OEM status with a rebuilt title, but I personally would pay the difference to a car that hasn't had it's rolling parts bent out of shape and more importantly without a title on it.

Just for your information, there is no rebuilt title here in LT (or other Euro countries as far as I am aware) Cheapest used BRZ costs ~$25k here. New BRZ costs ~$36k.

I'd probably buy it for the engine and to salvage other parts. Or if you already own a BRZ you can just rebuild it and turn it into a race car.
