I'm talking a full fledged "special" car ie 95 STi RA, 99 RB5, S202/03/04, R205, etc..

Give me any RA, Spec C, Type R/Ra-R, etc.. Give me real, significant, different trims of WRX/STi to choose from and a "special" car that puts the others to shame.
that goes for some other makes too, we never got the Rx-7 RZ or spirit R, let alone the Infini Rx-7 FCs, never got the different silvias, never got the good pulsars, hell! we never even got the EK9R or DC5R, never got the early model NSX-R, type S, or S-Zero. Never got the Supra RZ, or Celica GT-4.

of course some of the big factors was due to the Japanese main stream motorsports wasn't as popular in the US in the 80 & 90s. And US Execs never really saw the need or market profit to offer performance trims of Japanese econocars or sportscars to american buyers.

Thank you for posting this.

I knew I didn't imagine reading that (from @Moto-P I think?) way back when we were all speculating what the car would be like. I wanna hear more about this.

It'd prolly be WAY, WAY more affordable to go with an aftermarket set-up. The GDB oil cooler is 1,600 some odd dollars US.
