Did Jason ever say when they were dynoing these?

They've dyno'd every design as far as I know. Only way to sort out which options to market that will provide solid repeatable gains.

.. Unless I'm mistaken its all in this very thread. lol

edit: Oh.. you said "when" .. doh! nvrmnd.. disregard. I'ma go back into my corner now

Got to chat with Jason on the phone today. We talked about plans for my exhaust, and talked about what is currently being tested. Really exciting stuff coming up regarding the header.

Good things come to those who wait!

Thanks again Jason.

Anything you can share? Or any idea how things stack up for those of us with the first gen exhausts?

I don't think you have much to worry about with the first gen exhausts. The revision was more for manufacturing reasons, not performance. There are a few details I cannot share, but for the most part, there are still tons of variables to test with the header and pipe options.

It is going to take some patience while they test and dyno. They're really trying to get the best out of what they can easily manufacture. I'll let Jason share a lot of the info when the time comes. There's a lot more about the plans for it than just the information that has been posted. I'm really glad I got to talk to him.

All I can say is, I am DEFINITELY waiting for their results on the header + OP/DP options. The one question I had were midpipe options that need to be tested as well. He said that's one of the most difficult things now because of all the different things to test. Dynoing and part swapping would take up lots and lots of time. Hopefully, they reach a design they like.

Clever Jason is clever.

Did he mention when they expected to have some dyno charts?

That's odd, our catless only made a few hp more at the top end than the catted and the midrange difference was astonishing.

Quick update because we're pretty swamped: Initial driving impressions of this header and gigantic 3" full exhaust: Not a huge fan. If I was a track driver, I'd be all over this thing - it picks up at about 5k and feels like you got hit with a freight train. Unfortunately, it sounds like the freight train is at full throttle behind you also.

We need to play with it on the dyno, it's down there right now and they're going to fiddle with cam timing and such to see if the midrange drop is just based on the original tune we put together for the smaller primaries.

Not a big deal, we'll throw the 2.5" exhaust behind it and it may pick up massively. Lots of parts to swap in and out to see how the system behaves. Lots to iterate. I'm not looking forward to all the on and off the dyno to test all this stuff, but for now we're going to see what tuning can do with what is on the car.

The bottom line is this: The parts we have been selling for a long time now have proven themselves with a FEW different headers on the dyno and we're still extremely confident in them for our future header designs. The big 3" stuff seems a bit stretched and overkill to say the least, especially for people who aren't just using their 86 as a dedicated track car. And no worries, we can always throw a turbo on the front half of that header. Yeah I said it.

I'll post more when I have more information, and we'll be back to the dyno to swap things on and off to test different combinations of options. Also probably going to put that big twin circuit exhaust on and see if that even can do the job of keeping the sound down with the big 3" overpipe downpipe, but I have a feeling that we'll be keeping that in reserve for a dedicated turbo kit solution.

I really hope there's an eventual video of the full 3" system. You almost sound afraid of it, and that makes me want it in my life.

I want to take one - I want to know what it sounds like at full tilt out the back - also wanted to hear it with a single exit pipe...Something tells me there is no coincidence that the guys over at English Racing who we are working with on dyno testing and tuning the car moved the dyno to an entirely different building the day after we dropped the car off. Lol.

Just ask Jason if he can take your $1k and give you the header when it's done then.

+34hp and +46ft lb sound good to y'all? Oh, that's right in the middle of the torque dip, btw...+20ft lb and +15-30hp from 5k to redline. Next step is to test this with smaller exhaust and see if it bumps the midrange and takes a little off the top. So, see...the wait might just be worth it...

There is a pretty staunch dead spot for ~200rpm right about 3200rpm. Guessing that gigantic exhaust is exacerbating this and can't wait to test this setup with a few different existing exhaust configurations...

Kinda cool, eh?
