I learned on this car and I'm only a couple months in, but what I've realized when driving in normal traffic is 1-2 shift needs rpm to drop a little more than the rest of the gears. Also, if you're not doing a speedy shift, a tiny bit of gas just before you reach the biting point helps keep the rpms exactly where you need for 2-3, 3-4, 4-5. Then throttle on when the clutch is fully engaged. (By a tiny bit I mean literally just resting your foot on the accelerator without any force)

I've contemplated removing the clutch spring, but since the only other mt I've driven was an s2000 for a couple hours, I've got nothing to compare to and the clutch feels perfectly fine to me.

give it gas to about 2k and then let the clutch out slow until it catches and takes the RPM's down when the clutch engages the flywheel. unless you mash your first gear to 30 mph then of course you're going to have to stick your foot in it to match the flywheel speed lol

I think 2K is way too high! I set off at 600-800 rpm

1500? Really? Damn.. I always feel like the car is gonna die when I'm around those RPMs. I usually shift around 3-4k RPM for "normal" driving and near redline when im having fun.

2k is a bit high in my opinion too but 600 is pretty low.

Well he's getting the hang of things still, I'd say that just so you can control the speed either the clutch until you get the feel of the clutch. I'd rather give too much and slip than to not give enough and stall haha just my opinion though

Dude saying 2k wasnt the OP, dude surprised at 2k is the OP.

But anyway, I tend to agree, just remember to not "linger" anywhere. Burning clutch smell is not a good time

These little engines LOVE RPM. As an experiment add 1000 rpm to your shift points (after you are going). You might be surprised .

Delete the clutch spring and youll feel it enrage and the numb and dull feeling is gone.
