Of course it is absolutely possible there is some kind of Ecutek or ECU software glitch isolated to just your car, but it is more than likely still a hardware issue.

I've got 4 Edelbrock kits on the road now, all running the CARB tune, and running flawlessly. They are 4 different year cars as well a 13' two 14's and a 15', with different ECU versions and different kit production dates. To this day, all of the issues I have seen with this kit on the forum, with people running the CARB tune, are installation errors.

You are actually incorrect about my situation. Yes, there was something that looked like a problem, but fixing the gasket, which was sealing fine anyway, didn't change a single thing with how the car ran (go reread the thread). The only thing that had an effect on the majority of the issue was setting the cam timing back to stock in the CARB tune... which is now the new standard CARB tune.. or part of it. Many people are still searching for solutions to their problems with the kit, so it doesn't work for everyone. I can think of several people off hand which have issues, but I have yet to hear a 100% clean bill of health from as many others with the kit. The fact that they are still fine tuning the CARB tune and outside vendors are creating product solutions for problems with the kit backs this up. I'm not saying it's totally screwed, it does work, it just has annoying issues with it, hesitation, poor running, inconsistency, etc. I'm sitting here contemplating having to spend a couple g's just to get a full custom tune for all running conditions, that's not something I was expecting to have to do, but it is my reality with this kit.

Sorry, so your saying your issue is 100% with the tune, and not the kit at all?

Also, a "a couple g's for a tune". A custom tune should run you around $500.

"outside vendors are creating product solutions for problems with the kit backs this up" I'm guessing you are talking about Delicious Tunings MAP sensor kit?

Great charts! Guess you just pick if you want more torque at 3k or 6k

One things for sure from that graph. The JRSC has more area under the curve from 5k to 7k even if it does have the same headline power figure.

Does that steep dropoff at 7k mean you should short shift it?

I'm a scrub... What does "under the curve" mean?

If you look at the torque curve, from 5-7k rpm the JRSC has more of it, area if you like. More area under the curve give more power overall.

In mathematical terms you would integrate torque from 5-7k and the number you get would be bigger than that of the Edlebrock.

You'd have to do a spreadsheet of tractive effort at the wheels in each gear to see if it would be worth it or not. I suspect not.

Oh so more space between the curve and the button of the chart ie: higher value. That makes sense, just didn't understand the wording. The chart makes sense to me visually just not that phrase. Thanks!

I'm glad this forum has so many bench-racers

we have about 10,000 threads comparing dyno power between kits and about 3 threads with 1/4 mile times.

Such is life.

We are lucky to have those 3 threads.

Most people just whip out the spec sheet in real life to compare their car to yours.
