Not sure if this has been answered yet, but what does 6.15kg/ps convert to in terms of lb/hp (or however you say it)? Is it a direct conversion? I.e.: 13.59lbs/hp?

6.15kgs/ps 202ps = 200hp 6.15kg x 202ps = 1247kg 1247kg = 2749lbs 2749lbs / 200hp = 13.74lbs/hp

It appears that they just used the manufacturer spec rather than weighing it themselves. Quote:
1230 kgOf course, that's only at ~7000 RPM. I posted this elsewhere, but some of the reasons for the JDM weighing less than USDM are the lack of a spare and fewer speakers. For reference: http://toyota.jp/86/001_p_001/spec/spec/index.html Last edited by Deslock; 04-30-2012 at 06:56 AM. |

I don't understand why people are so fussed about this.
If you go karting its pretty much the same, some people are heavier than others and some aren't. Then there are those that are very skilled that even though he weighs 10kg more than the other guy he beats him. Then there's this person whose a lap ahead of everyone by the 10th lap. Its the same car, different drivers. Oh, anything that's faster than my current car (8sec) 0-60 is quick in my book. |

+1. We are the lucky ones I think, we're not jaded by years of driving high-po monsters, so we're not going to be bothered by its so-called "power deficit". Should be a total blast for us from every perspective, not just the handling side. :happy0180:

I wouldn't be surprise if all 3 cars keep going for another 5 laps and see change in position between the 86 and BRZ. I think out of respect hattori give keiichi so me room to go by. I would love to see keiichi in the 86 vs gan san in the brz lol.

people gave his (brz driver) credentials and like i said before, it was fixed or he (they) wanted a closer race between the two cars. if the guy has that much seat time in cars that has two to three times as much power in a professional racing association/league, then he shouldn't be making the mistake of a braking point of 2700lb 200hp car. hey! i don't know the premise of this japanese variety auto show. do they test for real or are they having fun out there, or both. i would think if they're posting lap times and 1/4 mile times they wanted to see how both cars fared against each other. if that was the case i wouldn't have let the GT pass and the GT wouldn't have had the chance unless the BRZ driver made a mistake. they're both in identical cars and both were competent drivers with plenty of seat time.

Coming from the hi-po beast that is the Yaris (105 willing steeds harnessed to a tall chassis with skinny donut tires), I agree.
