Here is my blind spot solution for now... They fit pretty nice (not perfect) and they come in a 2 pack at Advance Auto Parts.

Ive got about 400 miles until I hit 1000. I've mostly kept it around 4000 rpms and occasionally reached 5000. Can't wait to see what the car can do at redline.

Mirror positions: Figures 1, 3, and 4 are what you want.

Haha i really cannot belive you are able to drive the car for 1000miles without redlining it? There's no way in hell i could do that, the car is way to much fun to potter around in

I've had my car since 1e September, soon 2 month (well it was in the shop for CEL 3 weeks in that period) and i still have not passed 1000miles yet. Like i would drive 2 months without pushing it? Right it's not a Yaris i bought....

My Toyota dealer even told me that the harder you drive it the first 1000miles the better i will drive later on....:o

I guess I will give my little blind spot mirrors and if I don't like them I will give this a shot. Hell, I guess I can try that with the blind spot mirrors on and see too. =)

If you think you know better than the millions of dollars of R&D that go into making an engine and the recommendations of operation, go for it. Improper break-in issues happen post warranty typically, so it's no skin off their back.

Also, your dealer is an idiot. Which is no surprise seeing as it is a dealer.

Well i'll wont keep the car anyway after the warranty is gone
But unless there is facts/statistics showing engine failure due to improper break-in i still dont belive you need to granny new cars for 1000miles.

Yeah he probably is, when i first told him about My CEL he Said it's because i didn't drive it hard enough :o

It's not engine failure, it's increased oil consumption and reduces power from the rings not setting properly with the cylinder walls.
