I hadn't appreciated that you guys don't get them.. I'm not much of a fan of the bigger engined Exige. I think the S1 and S2 hit the sweet spot, price, performance, looks ect. The bigger engined Exige just looks plain ugly and sits uncomfortably in the wrong price bracket..

I was at one point thinking of moving to the S1 from my S2 as I love the raw racer look, tamed somewhat with the S2 but went with the Lancia as it's something that was always on my list of 'must own one day'.

The place I bought my Exige had a V6 cup car. Very expensive track toy. I agree, they are not as pretty as the S1 and S2, and quite a bit bigger.

Saw this little beauty today, in the centre of London, smack bang in the middle of the 'London Low Emissions Zone'. This zone requires payment of a fee otherwise cars like this and others can't go in... A real shame!!

In case you're wondering what it is? It's a series 2 Land Rover..

I saw a new Corvette (mid engine) this past Sunday going the other direction. As it got closer I was like 'ooo Ferrari. No McLaren. No... Corvette badge...? [Passes by] That's odd, how did I not recognize- OH CORVETTE!!!!"

Talk about it, I would really like to have a 2ZR S3 Elise, but they're not road legal :/ I actually saw someone driving a V6 Exige on the street in 2015, I have no idea how they got the plates for that car. It looks cool but I feel like they got ambitious with the asking price.

The S3 got rid of the quad bug eyes, gained a little more aero efficiency, and the newer drivetrain should be more reliable (chain driven oil pump located lower in the sump with a pickup that starves less easily, better oil/coolant heat exchange in the block itself, oil squirters with check valves instead of the passive rod bearing notch spray, and IIRC better synchronizers in the EC60 transmission). A little extra money would get the high rpm excitement back.

I'm really hoping the supposed North America revival end of this year will be good. My biggest worry is that I read it'll be a Volvo/Geely engine, which probably means turbo :/ I hate turbos.

Very high probability that the engine will be an in-house unit. Sadly the price of the series 3 puts it in direct competition with some really good cars that give more for the buck so to speak.

The original series 1 and 2 were more attainable and therefore more forgiveable regards quality/space and general compromises that come with the Elise/Exige unit.

Read the history on the Series level Land Rovers since I knew nothing about them than what they looked like. Really interesting business model. They started life as a whole different segment just to make a buck from quick overseas sales. Love the "half truck half tractor" description. Hilarious that they used an aluminium/magnesium alloy because it was cheaper and easier to get than steel at that time!

Guess their plan that "The Land Rover was designed to only be in production for two or three years to gain some cash flow and export orders for the Rover Company so it could restart up-market car production" worked out well when you consider what they became.

Edit: Quoted wrong post please apply to Land Rovers not Lotus

Speaking of the C8, lots of them on view at the Corvette Museum website where the factory does deliveries directly to consumers (9 different webcams just for that.)

Some pretty cars there!

The British car and Motorcycle industry is littered with projects that had short design life's but ended up propping up the companies, industry and the country. It's embarrassing to think how long the mini stayed in production.

We also have a rosy coloured view of the past with grand ideas of bringing back names/products only to find there is no market...

However, both the Land Rover and the Mini have a wonderful history and are recognised the world over.

The photos taken when I was waiting in line to do some grocery shopping.. the quality of the photos are poor as I didn't wish to risk losing my place in the queue.. Hardly shows any commitment to my fellow forum users..

Sunday 'Top Trumps'

Saw my first C8 today. Was going the other way on one of my favorite backroads drives. Looks much better in person.

Were you also confused as to what it was until you real close? Because I was.
